Venue: Connolly Park, Tralee
Date: Sat. 23rd February 2019
Referee: Billy Lacey
Result: Austin Stacks 4-9 Ballymacelligott 3-12
We played Stacks in the town league in Connoly park last Saturday
evening. While Stacks were short some of their regulars ,this was an
impressive performance by Ballymac with no less than 8 players on the
scoresheet. Two points from Sean Horan and one each from Dara Leen,
Dara Sweeney, and Dara Broderick had us 5 points to two ahead midway
through the half. Our defence, in which Cian Godley and Ciaran Brosnan
were in fine form limited Stacks to 2 points for most of the half. Sean
Horan again pointed before Brian Cassidy drove through from midfield
to score a goal and a point. Dara Broderick again pointed but Stacks
managed to score 1–2 in the final few minutes to leave the half time
score 1–7 to 1–4 in our favour. Our opponents scored 1-2 inside the
first 5 minutes of the second half with D Daly and D Broderick
pointing for us. .Stacks again goaled but Dara Leen somehow weaved
through to goal for us.. Donal Daly pointed but we didn’t score again
for over 10 mins while Stacks got another 1–2.Dylan Mchugh was
coolness personified as he side footed to the Stacks net. Stacks again
pointed with A Joy and D Broderick getting our final points. Its back
to Co League next weekend with a home game against Listowel.

U14 Boys
Our u14 Boys began the year with a win when they overcame Ardfert in Round One of the Tralee District League in Ardfert on Sunday last.
Playing with the aid of the strong wind in the first half our lads quickly got into their stride and playing some excellent football deservedly led at half time on a 2-7 to 0-5 scoreline. Tommy Palmer and Sean Rice goaling.
Ardfert began the second half in determined fashion and a succession of early points saw them eat into our lead and it looked as we would face an uphill battle to hold our advantage.
However three goals midway through the half courtesy of Padraig Heffernan (2) and Sean Rice ensured we ran out winners on a 5-8 to 1-14 scoreline.
In goals Conor Martin was soundness personified while Diarmuid Galvin Michael Culloty and Jamie Burke stood out in defence.
Midfielders Sean Rice and Luke Horgan held the upper hand and in the forwards Tom Long Tommy Palmer and Sam Mansfield impressed.
We are due to play Austin Stacks in the next round this weekend.
Team: Conor Martin William O Donoghue Diarmuid Galvin Thomas Leen Jamie Burke Micheal Culloty Evan O Brien Sean Rice Luke Horgan Skye Lynch Niall Collins Tom Long, Sam Mansfield ,Tommy Palmer, Raymond Lowe. Subs: Padraig Heffernan, Cathal White, Alex Riordan, Jamie Lynch.
