Minor Boys
Gold Team
Ballymacelligott v Laune Rangers– Minor County League Div 8– Final
Ballymacelligott 2-11
Laune Rangers 5-17
Our Minor Gold team played the final in the county league Division 8 against Laune Rangers on a glorious Thursday evening in Cordal.
Ballymac started this game well but Laune Rangers took command of this game mid-way through the first half and deservedly led at half time on a scoreline of Laune Rangers 3-08 Ballymac 1-06 with Jamie Burke Ballymac’s stand out player in the first half with a personal tally of 1-04 from play.
Ballymac started the 2nd half very strongly and reduced the lead to five points in the first minute of the second half with a goal from Luke Griffin that lead reduced further to three points with well taken points from Ciaran O’Connell and second half substitute Eoin Joy. Unfortunately, that was to be the closest Ballymac would get as Laune Rangers got to grips with the game again and ran out deserving winners on the night.
Well done to our boys for the effort shown on the day but on this occasion, they came up against a superior outfit with further battles expected between the two sides over the coming weeks.
A special mention must also be made to Cordal GAA who provided top class facilities on the evening for this County League Final.
A word of thanks also to Con Daly of KME Agri our very generous sponsor of the new set of minor jerseys.
Scorers; Jamie Burke (1-05) Ciaran O’Connell (0-03) Luke Griffin (1-00), Michael Savage (0-02) Eoin Joy (0-01)
Next fixture is Monday 24-4-23 Away to Dromid Waterville at 7pm in Central region Division 5
