Senior Team

Senior Ladies
Donal Curtin Cup
Our Senior Ladies side made the short journey to Connolly Park on Sunday last to take on Austin Stacks in Round 2 of the Donal Curtin Cup.
The first half proved to be an even affair with just the minimum separating the sides at the break the home side leading on a 0-8 to 1-4 scoreline, Jill Quirke with a neat low finish goaling for Ballymac.
The first quarter of the second half continued in the same vein with little between the sides, however two quick Stacks goals midway through the half saw them take control and with theirintroduction of fresh legs benefitting them, saw them run out winners on a 2-13 to 1 -6 scoreline.
Our Girls can be happy with their performance with Niamh Rahilly, Una Kerins, Laura Kelly, Rachel Griffin, Ashling O Connell, Eve Creedon and Caoimhe Carroll especially prominent.
Special mention must also go to Anna Collins and Jill Quirke who both performed excellently in their debut game for the Senior team, the first of many both will hopefully play for the Club!
Development League
Our Mens Development panel were out on Friday 14th April they played John Mitchel’s in John Mitchel’s. This was the second round of the County Development League Division 2.
The score was Mitchels 3-15 Ballymac 0-8
Minor Boys
Blue Team:
Ardfert GAA v Ballymacelligott GAA – Minor County League Div 2A– Round 5
Ardfert GAA 0-11
Ballymacelligott GAA 0-11
M
Our Minor team played their fifth and final game in the County League Division 2A against Ardfert GAA on Monday Evening, April 10th in blustery conditions in Ardfert.
In the first half, Ballymac hit the ground running with some invigorating football and some fine scores given the conditions. However, it was Ardfert who rallied in the latter stages of the half with some fine scores of their own. At the break, it was Ballymac 0-7 / Ardfert 0-7
The second half was a nip and tuck affair with both sides taking turns in terms of opportunities. This was a high-quality encounter given the blustery conditions. Both sides exchanged scores but could not be separated with a final score of Ballymac 0-11/Ardfert 0-11
However, the draw was not enough for our lads to proceed to the Div 3 semi–final. Management could not have asked anymore from the players in terms of effort and application. The central region will be soon upon us and all the best in that upcoming competition.
Well done to our boys for the effort shown on the day and throughout the league campaign.
Micheal Savage (0-04), Ciaran O’Connell (0-02) Eoin Moriarty (0-02), Mairtin McKivergan (0-01) Jack Slattery (0-01) Jack Joy (0-01)
Gold Team
Minor Div 8 Semi-final
Kenmare 3-05
Ballymac 3-08
We had to make the long trip down to Kenmare as our home pitch was unplayable due to the consistent rain.
This did not stop us as we set out to contain the Kenmare attack where our backs were outstanding in the first 10mins, after this period we settled down and controlled the game for the remainder of the half going in at HT leading 3-04 to 1-03 with goals from Jamie Burke, Gearoid Healy and a sublime finish by Cathal White.
The second half was much tougher as Kenmare came at us with everything and we didn’t take our early chances, with some fine play Kenmare came within 1pt of us, but our lads showed great composure in the last 10mins to play the ball around and pick off some fine scores to run out winners by 3pts in the end.
Scorers on the night.
Jamie Burke 1-01
Gearoid Healy 1-01
Cathal White 1-00
Ciarán o Connell 0-03
Eoghan Joy 0-02
Luke Griffin 0-01.
We now play the Div 8 final this Thursday at a venue to be confirmed and this is a historic achievement by this group as its the 1st time ever Ballymac has had a 2nd team in the County Minor league and have reached the final.
Please check our social media pages closer to game for confirmed times.
