Update from An Post:
The majority of post offices will open from 8am this Friday, 20 March to facilitate OAPs who wish to conduct their business ahead of other customers.
Customers impacted by Covid-19 may nominate a ‘Temporary Agent’ to act on their behalf by completing, in advance, a form available at post offices and online at anpost.com/tempagent.
Post Offices have introduced social distancing and other practical measures to safeguard customers and staff.
Post Office staff will capture customer details directly, avoiding the need for customers to handle counter equipment such as signing pads and pens.
Display boards, floor signs and staff will remind customers to remain apart from other people while in the Post Office.
An Post Mails, Parcels and Post Office networks are working as normal across Ireland.
An Post will endeavour to deliver all items. Where a business or home is not accessible, An Post will hold the item free-of-charge in the local Delivery Service Unit for collection by the customer. New Mailminder and Redirection applications have been suspended with immediate effect.
To mitigate against the risk of Covid-19, An Post postal delivery staff will not hand their scanner to the customer for signature. The delivery post person can sign on behalf of the customer, in their presence, for all mails and parcel items that require signature.
An Post will keep all customers up-to-date through this website and via our Social Media channels.
