Ballymac V John Mitchel’s Tralee Board SFL Round 1
Ballymac 0-08
John Mitchel’s 1-11
An open entertaining game of football in The Tralee Board Senior football League between Ballymac and John Mitchels’ in Ballymac kick started the 2020 football season today Sunday 26th January 2020.
Both teams exchanged early points before a long ball into the full forward line was well caught and finished to the net to put Mitchel’s three points ahead. Both teams traded scores back and forth until the half with Ballymac spurning numerous goal chances which would have left them in a comfortable position at the break. However, it finished 1-6 to 0-6 in favour of Mitchels at the break.
Typical of an early season game both teams noticeably tired in the second half, early points were again exchanged before Ballymac spurned another goal opportunity to level the game. This would be Ballymac’s last point of the half, the game petering out with Mitchel’s eventually triumphant on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-8.
