U17
Our U17s hope to take part U 17 9 a side Club Competition that The County Board will run in Mid to early June. The format will depend on the number of teams that are interested in taking part. If there are enough entries it is hoped to have a number of Divisions with the competition played over two or three nights. The possibility of clubs playing a number of games on a night and then qualifying for a finals night is been explored. This is a time of the year when U 17 players will not be involved with any other teams and this competition will provide games for these players. 9 a side football is fast, open and exciting and something different for the players. We look forward to taking part in the competition.
Under 16s: U16: Central Region Austin Stacks V Ballymac
Our u 16s entertained Austin Stacks at home in Round 5 of the central Region Division one on Monday night 29th April. Despite missing a few regulars , our lads matched the Stacks boys for the first 15 minutes , just trailing 0 03 Pts to 0 01 pt . However a good move by the Stacks boys which lead to a goal proved a turning point in this Game as it seemed to spur on the Rockies . Our boys played some lovely football but were unlucky not to have some more scores on the board , but at the interval, Stacks were well in control.
There was no stopping the Rockies as they pushed on , and some of their scores were top class . Our boys tried to the end and never gave up . Final score: Austin Stacks: 7-15 to Ballymac 1-03. Ballymac can be proud of their performances in Division one (Central Region) winning 3 games out of 5 . The team have made great progress since the start of the season, and are looking forward to an A final in the Castleisland District league next week . We play in the county league in early June and with a panel of 25 , we look forward with confidence to participating in this competition. We thank all parents for their support & thanks to Stephen O’Brien, Liam Sweeney, Mike Broderick and Eddie O’ Connell for having the team in good shape throughout this Competition.
U16 Team just qualified for Central Region Final
Congratulations to our U16 team and mentors who have qualified for The Central Region U16 Division A final .
Last Monday 6th May Our u 16s hosted Na Gaeil in the semi final of the Division 1 (b) of the central Region. Ballymac got off to a great start and raced into a six point lead after 10 mins our goal coming from Adam Kelly . Na Gaeil responded well and scored three unanswered points to put 3 points between the sides . A Goal by James Kenny put us further ahead , our boys playing some nice attacking football. We lead at the interval by 3 06 to 1 03 , our 3 rd goal coming from Adam Joy . We continued to impress with some excellent point taking by Donal Daly and 10 mins into the second half we looked to be out of sight . Fair play to Na Gaeil they rallied and had the deficit reduced to 2 points with 15 mins left . But a great solo effort from Adam Joy to rattle the net , A goal and 2 points from Maurice O’Connell and a further goal from Sean Horan put us firmly in the Driving seat with 3 mins left. Our boys continued to play well and the game finished on a scoreline of Ballymac 7 10 Na Gaeil 4 08 . This was a great team effort , and we look forward to a Castleisland District A Final & a Central Region final in the next week .
On Thursday next the 9th May our U16 team play Currow in the deferred Castleisland District A Final. The game is at 7pm and takes place in Cordal.
All support very welcome.
U15 Boys:
Our u 15s played in The Donal Walsh Tournament on Saturday 4 th of May in Healy park Ballyrickard . We were in a group which consisted of Na Gaeil Ardfert and Laune Rangers . After a Brief talk to parents Coaches & Players from Elma Walsh and Dr Susan Lawlor the games got underway. Our first game was against Na Gaeil , we were slow to settle and found ourselves down at the interval 3 03 to 1 01 . However we played much better in the second half and out scored Na Gaeil 2 01 to 1 02 in the second half, our goal coming from Donal Daly . Kieran Slattery was outstanding in this game , Maurice O’Connell & Luke O’Connell put in a huge effort . The final score was Na Gaeil 4 05 to Ballymac 3 02 . Our opponents for the second Game were Ardfert . Playing against the wind , we were under pressure for the first half , and the concession of two goals early on made it difficult for our boys. At the interval we trailed by 7 points , 2 02 to 0 01 pt . However we played much better in the second half as Luke O’Connell , Luke & Aidan Horgan and Eoin Creedon showed great determination. Unfortunately we came up short at the final whistle on the final score line of Ardfert 2 05 to Ballymac 1 02 . In our final game against Laune Rangers we really impressed and showed great determination and skill . We took the game to Laune Rangers and with Gary lynch playing a stormer at midfield, we lead the Rangers by 1 05 to 0 01 at the interval. In the second half against the wind , we continued to play well , Mossie Brennan Padraig Heffernan and Michael Culloty showed great skill and determination. Thanks to Kerins O’Rahilly’s for hosting us on the Day , and to all parents who
travelled and supported us . Congrats to Kerins O’Rahilly’s on winning the cup and Na Gaeil who won the shield . Well done .
U14s
Our u14 Boys travelled to Castlegregory on Wednesday last knowing a victory would ensure a home semi final.
Though playing against the wind in the first half we settled well and two early goals saw us go in at half time leading on a 2-6 to 0-6 scoreline. Special mention must be made of our defence in this half who performed heroically to ensure that lead.
We struck early in the second half for more goals to put the result beyond doubt with a final score of Ballymac 5-13 Castlegregory 1-10.
We now have a semi final game against Beaufort to look forward to.

Ballymac U12 Blue Team:
The blue team travelled to Austin Stacks for a winner take all clash in the last game of phase 1 of Division 1A on Sunday 5th May. Stacks settled into the game faster being more clinical in their tackling and faster in their ball movement throughout the first half. This gave Stacks a commanding lead at half time. Credit goes to the whole team for upping their game in the second half but in the end their was only winner on the night. Last Sunday we lost as a team but one thing is sure we will come back stronger as a team in phase 2. Well done to all the team on a very strong phase 1. Roll on phase 2!!

Parking/Traffic Arrangements for Sunday Academy.
For Health & Safety reason on every Sunday morning we ask all parents dropping off children to the academy , to park outside the Main Gates and walk into the pitch with children. The Main gates will be closed as its too dangerous immediately after training to accommodate all the cars leaving etc. We thank you all in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
