Girls under 14
Ballymac Under 14 ladies Blue team played Abbeydorney in Ballymac on Monday evening last, in a highly entertaining game of football in Division 1 of the North Kerry League. The girls put together some great passages of play and showed their skills attacking and courage defending right to the finish line. A win for us meant that three teams would be tied at the top of the table, and in the process deny the Abbeydorney girls outright victory in the Division. After an eleven goal fest and our girls scoring 7, we ran out winners by 6 points in the end. Final score was 7-8 to 4-11 . A draw was held by the North Kerry board during the week with the three teams put in a hat. First team out was ourselves ,meaning we have the winners of a semi final between Austin Stacks and Abbeydorney at home in Ballymac on Friday evening 6th October. This should be a very entertaining game with all support for the girls greatly appreciated .
Following on from Mondays game against Abbeydorney the Blue panel played N.a. Gaeil in Ballymac on Wednesday evening in the Town League and again emerged victorious on scoreline of 5-5 to 2-5 . After slow start the girls got into the game, and took the lead, which they gave away to the end. With two rounds yet to be played, its all to play for in Division 1 of the Town League .
Lastly it was the turn of our Gold team on Friday evening to finish out the week in style by winning Division 4 of the
North Kerry League, again at home by beating Dingle 5-10 to 1-5 . After a nip and tuck start we pulled away mid way through the first half and dominated the rest of the game despite the best efforts of the Dingle girls. With our goalie Lorna Daly and six backs, Geraldine Cassidy, Ellie Linehan, Millie Dunne, Kerry Hennessey, Holly Geary(c) and Emma Leen dominant it made it easy for our midfield of the Galvin sisters, Aoife(0-1) and Grainne(1-1) to supply plenty ball to our forwards, Shonagh Griffin(0-1), Alyssa Leen(3-0), Laura Dunne, Jade Riordan, Yvonne Hurley(0-1) and Emer Curran(1-6). To great excitement Holly Geary, captain, was presented with the winning trophy . Well done and thanks to the parents who brought some refreshments for both teams, and helped serve and clean up afterwards.

Ballymac Gold 5-07 Currow A 3-16 We went to Castleisland Desmonds for the four district finals and were very hopeful of a good result. Our lads looked a bit nervous from the start and missed a few handy points from close range. We got a lucky goal and this seemed to get us going. We went in at Half time up by points. The second half proved to be a real contest where Currow came out fighting for everything. The lads fought hard and did the club proud but we ran out losers by 3 points on the evening. The lads had a long season of football and they did the best they could on the evening. The team looks in a great place for the second season in the U12’s.
