Ballymac 4-7 St Pats 2-7
The ladies Senior team had their first game at home in Ballymac on Friday 14th April against St Pats. It was a wet day but it did not dampen the spirit of the Girls that had only one thing on their mind and that was a win at home. There was good support from the side line for this historic event for Ballymac. Ballymac had a great start with Claire Kenny getting the first score on the board and eventually marked up two points. We dominated the first half but St Pats had better luck with scores then we did and at half time the score was St Pats 2-7 and Ballymac 1-3.
The girls went out in the second half with the focus to win the game. We started out well with further scores from Emma Sweeney who clocked up 2-2 and Nicola Horan who scored 2-1, Rachel Godley who scored 1 point and Eve Creedon who had a considerable work rate with eventually added a score of 1 point. With great defending from our backs Michelle Lynch, Michaela Murphy, Tara Murphy, Grainne Kerins, Una Kerins, Niamh Rahilly, Caomhe Carroll, Rose Anne O’Shea, Lisa Curran, Maeve O’Sullivan & Robyn White and the persistence of our forwards Veronica Heaslip, Mary Healy, Eve Creedon, Rachel Godley, Emma Sweeney, Nicola Horan and Niaomi O’Sullivan and centre field Ellie McElligott and Claire Kenny we held them scoreless in the second half. At the final whistle the cheers could be heard from stand and from the field with a win and final score for Ballymac Senior Ladies 4-7 to St Pats 2-7. This Team who was captained by Una Kerins did this club proud today..
