Round 2
Ballymac 2-15 St. Pat’s Blennerville 1-10
Snap shots of some of the positives from today: It was a great day for football. A Marvellous Pitch and Facilities in Ardfert Community Pitch. A great turnout from our players. Five of our last year’s minors wore the senior Jersey for the first-time including twins Aidan and Luke Horgan. It was a great team effort with seamless blending of the new and seasoned players. Plenty of supporters out to encourage the team and the new management team of Ian Blake, Tony Silles, Gene O’Keeffe and Pádraig Laide and physical Trainer Anthony O’Leary.
Thirteen minutes into the first half St Pats had three points on the scoreboard. It took Ballymac some time to settle playing against a stiff wind. Just at the end of the quarter Cathal Dunne gave a fine pass to Niall Collins who made no mistake and rattled the ball into the back of the net. The next score was another goal from Collins. A free, from a foul on Niall Collins, was pointed by Vinnie Horan. A very well-read interception by Diarmuid Galvin stopped a guaranteed score from St Pats. Ballymac had forced their way back into the game. Two more points followed from Daire Keane and Donal Daly. The Half Time score Ballymac 2-03 to St Pat’s 0-7.
The second half even with the wind could have been challenging for our team as we had lost Dan O’Shea to a second yellow just before half time. It was heartening to see the way they overcame this set back, set down to business and went on to win well. The senior players lead by example right through the game especially in the second half. This gave great confidence to the younger players. Five points from Vinnie Horan and three from young Donal Daly as well as points from Darragh Regan and Daire Keane ensured the points went to Ballymac.
Today was about playing and learning. There is a lot of work to do. However, it was really satisfying for all the Club Coaching Officers, our underage and The Development League mentors to see so many of our young players break in to the senior ranks not only this year but for the past few years. Ballymac Abú.

Minors
Ballymac v Tarbert – Minor County League Div 2A – Round 1
Our Minor team played in the first round of the county league versus in Tarbert in blustery conditions on Saturday at home in Ballymac.
The opening half proved tough to convert scoring opportunities with clear cut chances few and far between in a highly physical encounter. The half time scoreline was Ballymac 1-01 Tarbert 0-02
In the second half, the visitors began to take control with some well taken scores in tough conditions. However, Ballymac did not throw in the towel looking to overcome a five-point deficit with 10 mins to go. Both teams converted penalties in the last minutes of the game, ours being converted by Jack Joy.
It was Tarbert who left with the two points on a final score Ballymac 2-02 Tarbert 1-10. Well done to our boys for the effort and application shown.
