We need your help-please fill out our Healthy Club Questionnaire
Ballymacelligott GAA club is taking part in the GAA’s Healthy Club Project which aims to help clubs identify what they are already doing well, identify areas where they can or would like to improve, and empower them to ensure that everyone who engages with their club benefits from the experience in a health-enhancing way, be they players, officers, coaches, parents, supporters, or members of their local community.
We would appreciate if you could complete this brief questionnaire to help guide us on our
Healthy Club journey. The questionnaire is available on line on our web site, Facebook and Twitter pages. We also have hard copies available in The Half Way Shop. Once completed they can be returned and put in the box in the shop and we will collect the replies.
The closing date for return of Questionnaire is the 4th April…Thank you in advance for taking the time to fill out this survey.
Main Ballymacelligott GAA Lotto & Play Ball to merge as one from 30th March 2021.
We are very grateful to everyone who has supported our main lotto over the years. To all those who sold tickets, purchased tickets and helped in any way.
At our AGM in December 2019 a Motion was passed to increase the numbers in our lotto from 1-28 to 1-32 from 1st April 2020.
Before we had time to sort it COVID arrived and for Health and Safety reasons our Main Lotto was suspended on the 9/3/20.
We Started an online Interim Play Lotto with increased number 1-32 on: 8/6/20.
We have no idea when we can get back to selling lotto tickets physically nor when we will be able to go back into our pubs, Community Centres etc. to hold the draw. In view of this our executive took the decision last month to go totally on line with our main lotto from 5/4/21.
On the 29th March 2021 we will hold the lotto draw for the March 15th 2020 when our Main Lotto was suspended. The tickets that were included at that time will be drawn on that night with numbers from 1-28.
We will also hold a draw for our interim lotto on that day. Both draws will be live on Ballymacgaa Facebook Live and all draws going forward will be on Facebook live on Monday evenings.
Then we combine both lottos going forward and this includes both Jackpots (assuming none will be won). Anyone with tickets in the old lotto will be fully credited in the combined lotto going forward for any outstanding weeks on their tickets since the lotto was suspended.
As the numbers in the draw will increase going forward, we are in the process of canvassing everyone to see if they wish to keep their numbers or change them.
Once again, we sincerely thank you for your continued support of Ballymacelligott GAA Club.
Anyone with any queries you have any queries please contact Maureen at 087-9795220 or Email pro.ballymacelliott.kerry@gaa.ie.

Ballymacelligott Ladies News
Lidl “Level the Playing Field”
As a community we have collected 16 stamp cards towards our target of 50. With less than two weeks to go and 34 stamp cards left to collect we are hoping we can close the gap to reach our target and get a set of jerseys for our club. Thank you to everyone who has scanned their Lidl Plus card and is collecting stamps. We really appreciate your support and hopefully we can reach our target by 11th April.
Last Man Standing
After a short break the next round “Last Man Standing” will take place this coming weekend. Participants are reminded to have their entries in by 3pm on Friday 2nd of April.
Skill of the week
With the arrival of the Easter Holidays and the evenings getting a little bit longer we would love to see our club members dig out their footballs, dust off their football boots and get practicing some key skills. This week the focus is on “The Hand Pass”. The Hand Pass is used to pass the ball over short distances. The technique involves supporting the ball in one hand and striking it with the open free hand. Check out this video from LGFA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rij1BaKHv38 which gives a step by step explanation.
Show us your skills and send your videos to proballymacladies@gmail.com. Keep an eye out on our social media pages.
U16
Our U16 girls continue with their weekly 2km run challenge. Once again they have all managed to reduce their times for these runs. Super work girls!

We thank everyone who supported Ballymac GAA Play Ball Draw this week.
All the money raised, is for the upkeep of our two pitches
Next week’s Jackpot is €1380.00 and the draw will take place on Monday, March 29th at 6pm
We really appreciate the support we have got from our play-ball supporters every week.
The minimum purchase of €2.00 per week adds up at the end of the year. We are not playing on our pitches at the moment.
When our players return, we want our pitches and facilities to be in top-class condition and anyone involved in our weekly draw is a partner in this work.
