Under 16 Girls
Our u16 Girls had two outings in the past week.
They travelled to play Beale on Tuesday evening where they played some fantastic football, having led 2-3 to 0-6 at half time they held a 4-7 to 3-9 lead entering the closing stages, however the home side struck for two late goals to see them win the game.
On Sunday evening we were on the road again with a trip to play John Mitchels, our Girls played their best football of the Year and four first half goals put us in the driving seat, our play continued to be of the highest standard in the second half which ensured we ran out victors on a 6-5 to 2-6 scoreline.
Under 14 Girls
Well done to the u14 girls who had a great win against Beale on Friday night winning out on a score line of 5:07 to. 1:03 Well done
Our next game will be next weekend away to Ballyduff. TBC
Under 14 boys
Our u14 boys competed in the super 10s in Caherslee last Thursday.
A win and 2 losses meant we did not qualify on this occasion.
Well done to all, it wasn’t for the lack of effort.
Next time!
Under 13 Boys
U13 Castleisland District Final 09th Oct 2023
Ballymac played host to Brosna/Knocknagoshel for the final of the Castleisland District u13 Competition on a perfect evening for football in unseasonably warm conditions.
We scored a point from the throw in and were dominating possession early on and went a couple of points ahead thanks to two points from Patrick. Brosna/Knocknagoshel however were working hard and scored a well worked goal to make it a one-point game.
Our defence started to get on top with great displays all round particularly from Gearoid and Eric who scored the next point from a customary high-speed run from deep. The defence provided the launch pad for more attacks and on the 20-minute mark Harvey set up Ciarán for a well taken goal. A few more points from Adrian, Eric and Patrick but some daylight between the teams at half time.
Ballymac took control of the game early in the second half with some great team work and passing. The score of night saw Patrick bag his second goal from a play that started with a great catch by Finn in corner back, the ball was worked up through 6 different players. When Harvey hit a top corner screamer the result was put beyond doubt. Thanks to Brosna/Knocknagoshel for a sporting game.
Fixture: U13 Boys Play Churchill in Tralee/St Brendan’s Div 2 League Final this Thursday evening at 6.30pm in Connolly Park.
Academy
Our final Academy session will be on Sunday morning 22nd October at 11am.
See you all there
Under 9 boys
Well done to the u9 boys who took part in the Munster Blitz Saturday morning in Mallow. The boys played 3 very competitive & sporting games. With plenty of scores at one end along with super defending at the other, the future of Ballymac football is in safe hands. A great day was finished off with a trip to McDonalds.

Healthy Club notes
GAA Generations initiative is looking to engage young GAA and LGFA aged 12- 21 years of age to record on their mobile phone a conversation with ‘One Good Adult’; someone who they look up to and admire in the 55+ age bracket. It could be, for example, a parent/grandparent, a coach, or a teacher, past or present, that saw and nurtured your potential. Older participants will also be given the opportunity to quiz their young interviewees on their GAA experiences and how it may have impacted their understanding of who they are. 100 lucky participants will be invited to a special event in the Autumn with Cillian Murphy, Actor and Patron of the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre in University of Galway. If any coach / parent, can think of a youth in this age bracket who would be interested in engaging- please contact Christina as soon as possible – 0871811249.
