U15 Boys
Ballymacelligott U15 gold team played the first round of the Central Region division 5A football league this evening away to John Mitchell’s.
The conditions were very poor with a strong breeze blowing and heavy rain falling. We lined out with 13 players in the first half which left the lads with a lot more ground to cover.
Ballymac played with the wind in the first half and ended up 4 points ahead at half time. 1 goal 7 points to 1 goal 4 points
when we started the second half, we were up to full strength with 15 and 1 sub
The weather got worst and we were now playing against the wind it was nip and tuck all the way through the second half and we traded points with Mitchell’s but despite the strong wind at their backs
And due to the excellent display of shear grit by our backs we only allowed them to add 4 more points to their first half tally which ended up at 1goal 8 points. We on the other hand tagged on 3 points to our half Time tally in really tuff conditions and ended winning by 2 points with a final total of 1goal 10 points
Our team lined out as follows
Séadhna O’Brien Kyran Boyle Fionn Enright Gearoid O’Connor Daniel Moriarty Ryan Burke Jack Collins Cian Gilroy Liam O’Rahilly Shane Cassidy Graham West Conor Lynch Tadgh O’Connor Gearoid Joy Harvey Leen Eric Quirke
Scorers were
Tadgh O’Connor 1g 2p, Jack Collins 4p, Liam O’Rahilly 2p, Graham West 1p, Shane Cassidy 1p
