Club Development Team
Ballymac B 1-12 Spa B 0-08
A youthful Ballymac side made the journey to Spa Killarney Sunday afternoon and came away with a deserved victory. With a travelling unit of twenty-two players and getting game time in to twenty players, this novel competition is proving hugely beneficial for this group.
Leading at half time by 1 06 to 0 03 where to a man our youthful side matched the more experienced Spa outfit, this trend continued in the second half where Ballymac introduced five substitutes and finished the game with some solid defensive work only allowing Spa to kick points from a distance.
Many thanks to Spa for a sporting game and to their management who complimented Ballymac for their performance on the day.
Kerry Senior Teams
Well done to the Kerry Ladies and management who had a great win over Tipperary on Saturday in the 2022 Munster Senior Ladies Football semi-final.
Also well done to the Kerry Senior Men and management on their win over Cork on Saturday in Paric Ui Rinn in the Munster semi-final

Under 15 Boys
Feile 2022 County Finals
Held in Kerry Gaa Centre of Excellence in Currans on Bank Holiday Monday last our lads were up against the might of Laune Rangers in the Division 1 semi-final.
With games 15 minutes per half the pace was fast and furious and after finishing level on 2-05 a piece in normal time, it took two periods of five minutes of extra time to separate the teams. Scoring 1-02 without reply in extra time, meant our boys had qualified for the clubs first ever Division 1 feile final. Our opponents Austin Stacks awaited, but unfortunately for us they did not have to play a semi-final on the day, due to Rathmore withdrawing from the other semi-final. This left us at a huge disadvantage competing in the final which Austin Stacks won comfortably in the end 2-11 to 1-04.
All the boys can hold their heads high representing the club with distinction on the Saturday as well having beaten Rathmore and Kenmare to get to the semi-final stage.
Panel as follows: Cian Harris, Jamie Tarrant, Stephen Turner, Sam Slattery, Tommy Walsh, Eoghan Joy, Micheal O Connor, Jack Joy, Eoin Moriarty, Padraig Reidy, Luke Silles, Michael Quirke, Gearoid Healy, Mairtin Mc Kivergan (c), Ciaran O Connell, John Leen, Maurice Harrington, Luke Griffin, Sean Martin, Conal Savage, Shane Brosnan, Cian Gilroy.
The week ahead sees the Under 15 Blue Team contest the County League Division 1 semi-final against Austin Stacks in Connolly Park at 7pm Wednesday evening. Another huge game for our lads in their season, and one where all support will be greatly appreciated. Best of luck to all involved.
The Gold team are awaiting Div 10 final fixture v Kilcummin B
Under 13 boys
Both our blue and gold teams were away to Austin Stacks this weekend.
Despite playing some great football the town teams proved too strong for our lads.
Austin Stacks 3.15 Ballymac Blue 0.02
Austin Stacks B 3.07 Ballymac Gold 0.06.
Congratulations to Our Jack Collins who represented Kerry and O’Brennan National School in the schools’ team that played at half time against Cork to a full house in Pairc Ui Rinn. Jack kept a clean sheet in a comprehensive victory over the Rebels.
Under 11 boys
Our U11 Ballymac boys played at home this evening 5th May on the main pitch against Laune Rangers. Both gold and blue teams played against two strong teams.
Our gold squad of 11 players and 1 sub were joined by some u9s. The opposing team were doing well in the first half but by the second half our gold squad had picked up momentum. We were unlucky to hit the crossbar more than once or twice but all in all it was an enjoyable game of football.
Thanks to our own two Ballymac referees Maurice O’Connell and Kieran Slattery. It was great to see so many parents out to support our boys and thanks to Laune Rangers for two sporting games.
Our next game is against Stacks in Connolly Park next Thursday.
Academy
Under 9 boys
Our u 9 s Continued with Training on Sunday morning at the main pitch and once again there was a great turn out.
The boys continued with improving their skills in anticipation of Go Games in the near future.
Players to impress were Isaac Lynch Ryan Kelliher Kyle o Sullivan Joey o Connor & Jason Mc Donnell Calum Walsh & Daragh Curran.
We Hope to have fixtures during the week for our Go Games.
Under 5s
Our U5 academy players have come on leaps and bounds in recent weeks. For our newest players this week saw the introduction of the fundamentals of soloing while our seasoned players got a chance to show how much they remember from last year. We hope they keep up the practice during the week!
Ladies News
Minor Ladies
Southern Gaels Away. On Thursday last we made the long trip to Cahersiveen with only 12 players to face the mighty Gaels. The girls put up a great performance considering the lack of football played at this level so far this year. First Half was very tough as we worked hard to get some patterns working, which came to the fore in the second half where we really started to put real pressure on a fully locked and loaded Southern Gaels squad of 30.
Onwards to our last fixture again ISG at home, with date to be confirmed. Our ladies pretty much have guaranteed a semi-final place and now it is trying to get as higher a grading as possible for the semi.
Squad was as follows, Kerry Hennessy, Deborah O’Connor, Aoibhinn Broderick, Ciara Kerins (Captain), Anna Collins, Kate Collins, Shonagh Griffin, Keelin Enright, Roisin Rahilly, Ella Quirke, Jill Quirke and Orla O’Connor. Ciara Palmer travelled but was injured.
Thanks to all for travelling the distance and all the parents who travelled.
Under 16 County League
On Tuesday night our girls were away to Beaufort, but had to be played in Listry. For the first time we were almost at full strength and it showed with an easy enough win over a depleted side, 7-13 to 3-6. The work rate and teamwork was excellent and players have settled into their positions, to best help out the team. We face a bigger test away to Austin Stacks in Connolly Park on Tuesday night. All Support Most Greatly appreciated.
Under 14 girls/ Kerry u14 ladies All-Ireland
Our young Kerry Ladies had a convincing victory over a highly regarded Galway team today to set up an All-Ireland Final v Cork for the weekend after next. The team is captained by Ballymacs Jamie Lee O’Connor and we would like to send Jamie Lee, the team and management our congratulations and wish them all the best in the All Ireland Final. We will be running a bus to the final and anyone who would like to avail of this please contact any of our Ladies Executive, Secretary Deirdre Millane, PRO Aishlinn O’Brien, Registrar Emma Sweeney or Chairperson Sean Hennessy (086 3853988). It is fantastic to see a Ballymacelligott person lead Kerry out in an All-Ireland Final.
