SENIORS
Our Senior Team travelled to Blennerville on Sunday last to take on the home side in the final of a St. Brendans Board League. Played in perfect conditions the home side started the better and led by 0 – 7 to 0 – 1 at the end of the first quarter. An Aidan Breen was Ballymacs only score. Ballymac then came more into the game and the succession of points from Padraig McCarthy, Vinnie Horan, Tomas O Connor and an Aidan Breen free saw the lead reduced to 2 points by the 20th minute. St. Pats struck for a goal in the 25th minute of the half to extend their league and by half time they led on a scoreline of 1 – 9 to 0 – 6. Early second half points extended their lead with points from Aidan Breen and Daniel O Shea followed by a Breen goal left 6 points again between the sides with 10 minutes left. The homesides points scoring ability pushed them further ahead however, our lads never gave up and an Eanna Reidy goal and points from Aidan Breen and Luke Sweeney saw us with a 2 – 10 score at the final whistle but it was St. Pats who were crowned champions with 1 – 18 on the scoreboard.
