Ardfert 3 – 09 Ballymac 1 – 08.
Ballymac travelled to Ardfert on Saturday night last for Round 3 of the Co. League. Ballymac started strongly with two Padraig McCarthy points. Ardfert replied with 2 points of their own before Luke Sweeney and Padraig McCarthy kept the score board ticking over for Ballymac. A goal from either side left the score after quarter of an hour Ballymac 1 – 4 Ardfert 1 – 3. Genie Griffin scoring Ballymacs goal. A point from Daniel O Shea on the 20th minute extended Ballymacs lead. However, Ardfert dominated the remainder of the half and scored 1 – 3 without reply to leave the half time score Ardfert 2 – 6 Ballymac 1 – 5. Ardfert continued to dominate early in the second half and Ballymac first score in this halfwas a Padraig McCarthy free after 12 minutes. Aidan Breen followed up this with a point from play however, Ballymac chances of victory received a set back when they were reduced to 14 men when Cian Counihan was sent off. A penalty goal from Ardfert extended their lead and a late Padraig McCarthy’s pointed free was the final score of the game.

Our focus now shifts to Saturday evening next April 19th when we welcome Churchill to Ballymac for the 1st round of the Co Junior Championship. Throw in for this game is 6.30pm. Games between these sides in the recent past have been close affairs and Saturday should be no different. So it is imperative a good home crowd comes out to support the lads.
MINORS
Our minors had a comprehensive victory over John Mithcels on Friday night last in the Tralee Minor District League. This game was a very one sided affair with Ballymac leading at half time on a score line of 6-9 to 4 points. Two goals from Vincent Horan, one from Stephen Bermingham and three from Cillian Brosnan. Mitchels started the second half more determined and scored two goals and a point before a reply from Ballymac. Cian Lonergan scored Ballymac only goal in the second half to leave the final score 7 – 13 to 2 – 8. On Friday night next April 18th at 6.45pm we play Moyvane/Tarbert at home in the final round of the Co. League.

The Club had 3 acts at the finals held at the Tintean Theatre Ballybunion on Sunday. Pride of place must go to Laura Daly who is the new county champion in solo singing. The Club also had Niamh Rahilly taking part in the recitation and figure dancers, Eimear Curran, Emma Leen, Sadbh Glavin Murphy, Saoirse Maloney, Ashling O Connell, Lisa Curran. Well done to all concerned
