Our Senior team travelled to Connolly Park on Sunday last to take on Austin Stacks in the Coiste Tra Li League. On the day a strong Stacks side proved too strong for our lads. This weekend we are away to Kerins O Rahillys. This game is due to start at 12.30pm on Sunday. Please check Facebook and Twitter for any changes to this fixture.

FAOI 16
Our first home game in the Castleisland District League was against Knock/Brosna last Sunday. A gale force wind blew right across the pitch which made conditions difficult for both teams. We missed a few chances earlier on before Dara Keane got our first point. 4 points inside three minutes from Dara Regan, Dara Keane, Josh and James McDonnell stretched our lead. With twenty minutes gone Michael Hoare got a super point while Knock/Brosna got their first point. Two late points for Dara O Regan and Liam O Malley and a point for Knock/Brosna finished the first half scoring. We might have been further ahead only for 2 fine saves by the Knock/Brosna goal keeper while Eddie Rogers prevented a certain goal. Half time score Ballymac 0 – 8 Knock/Brosna 0 – 2. With the wind easing a bit we got a great start to the second half Dara Regan scoring inside 30 seconds. Ten minutes past before Josh found the net quickly followed by an Eoin O Malley point. Our opponents got their first point before James McDonnell goaled for us. A mini revival by Knock/Brosna saw them score 1 – 2 while a Dara Regan finished our scoring. A total of 3 – 10 most of which came from play was a fine achievement in difficult conditions. Josh O Keeffe, James McDonnell, Eoin O Malley and Dara Regan were best for us on the day. We are home to Desmonds on Sunday next.
