SENIOR TEAM REVIEW
Our Senior Team began their year with games in the Coiste Tra Li League and St. Brendan’s Board which proved good preparation for our County League campaign. Our record of 5 wins and 6 losses which included some good wins and disappointing losses ensured Division 3 football for us again in 2015. In the Junior championship we suffered a first round defeat at home to Churchill. We deservedly held a 3 point lead at half time however the St. Brendan’s side proved stronger in the second half and ran out deserving winners. Thanks to all the players for giving of their time to play football for the Club over the year. Many thanks to team trainer Dan Kearney and his selectors Stephen O Brien, John O Connor and Donal Rahilly for their time and commitment to the Club. Dan in stepping down from his position and the Club wishes him well in the future.
Our Junior team provided football for players outside the ‘first 15’ of the Club. Thanks to Aidan Breen, Cian Counihan and Bridget Leen who looked after this bunch of players.
MINOR REVIEW
Our minors began the year with games in Coiste Tra Li League. We qualified for the Shield Final against Na Gaeil which we duly won. Our County League campaign saw us register victories over Currow, Ardfert, Na Gaeil and Moyvane/Tarbert, with just one loss to Fossa. These results ensured a home semi-final vs Moynave/Tarbert, the North Kerry combination running out winners by 2 points. This game played on April 25th was to be the last game of the year for our Minor team, however many of those went on to play with our Senior and Junior Team. The management team for this bunch of players consisted of Padraig Laide, Mossie Shanahan, Sean Hennessey and Tony Silles. Many thanks to the lads for their time and commitment over the year.
BAG PACKING
Many thanks to all who gave up of their time at this busy time of year to participate in Bag packing in the Horans Centre last weekend. Thanks also to those who contributed. All funds raised over the weekend goes to the continued development of under age football in Ballymac.
The Club would like to wish all Club members and their families a Merry Christmas and health & happiness for the New Year. We would also like to take this opportunity of thanking anybody who helped the Club in any way in 2014.
