Kerins O Rahillys 1 – 7 Ballymac 0 – 6.
Ballymac seniors suffered their first defeat of the year when they went down by 4 points to Kerins O Rahillys in a Coiste Tra Li game played in Strand Road on Sunday last.
Ballymac started the better and points from Daniel O Shea, Aidan Breen and Gene Griffin saw them race into an early lead. However, we spurned a few goal scoring chances which would have increased our lead. The home side came more into the game and by half time a point separated the sides with Ballymac leading on a score of 0 – 4 to 0 – 3 an Aidan Breen free completing the Ballymac scoring in this half.
The decisive score of the game came in the first minute of the second half when Kerins O Rahillys struck for a goal, this gave the town side a lead which they were never to relinquish. Despite our lads trying to claw back their lead, Kerins O Rahillys kept their noses ahead with 4 second half points. Ballymacs reply was 2 points from Daniel O Shea and Con Reynolds.
