Jerry Savage RIP
An air of sadness descended over the parish of Ballymacelligott and beyond when the news emerged on Saturday evening last of the passing of our esteemed Club Vice-President Jerry Savage.
Jerry was a great supporter of all events pertaining to the Parish and was always willing to give a helping hand in organising them. He was to the forefront in the reformation of the GAA Club in the mid 1940’s and held a variety of positions within the Club down through the years. He always attended the Clubs AGM and was very supportive of any initiative which was of benefit to the Club.
He also had a great interest in the cultural side of the GAA and was a regular attender at Scor competitions. Just a number of weeks ago he was at the District Final of Scor held in St. Brendan’s Community Centre Ballymac.
An avid supporter of County Teams he was instrumental in the setting up of the Kerry Supporters Club serving as their Chairman for 10 years.
While Jerry will be sorely missed by all who knew him his loss will be greatest felt by his wife Maureen, daughters Elizabeth and Carmel, sons Brendan, Brian and Kevin and extended family.
All in Ballymac GAA Club extend their deepest sympathy to them.
