SENIORS
Our senior teams interest in the Premier Junior Club Championship came to a disappointing end in Killeen on Saturday evening last where Na Gaeil proved too strong for us on the night. The home side had 3 points on the board after 10 minutes before Vincent Horan pointed to open Ballymacs account after a well worked 45. The sides swapped points and Aidan Breen free the Ballymac scorer. Na Gaeil then struck for their first goal to extend their advantage. The sides scoared 2 points each prior to halftime to leave the score at the break Na Gaeil 1-6 to Ballymac 0 -4.
A Daniel O Shea point early in the second half reduced the deficit but Na Gaeil hit back with 3 points. Aidan Breen then pointed 2 frees to reduce the lead to 5 points with 10 minutes remaining. Ballymac were in need of a goal to rescue the game, however, it was the home side who hit the net to seal their win. In the time remaining they added 4 more points to a single Ballymac 1 from Daniel O Shea. While injury and illness to players did not help Ballymacs cause on the night there was no doubt Na Gaeil were deserving winners and good luck to them in the remainder of the competition.
For our lads the concentration now shifts back to our Co. League campaign to continue our push for promotion back to Division 3.
