Ballymac started strongly and points by Shane Dowling and Colin McSwiney had them two up before Na Gaeil got off the mark from Jamie Lowhan. Another brace of points followed from Captain Mike Leen after great work by Eoin Sugrue and a free from Gene O’ Keeffe. Dermot Flaherty responded with a minor for the town team. Ballymac now playing great attacking football added further scores through Dermot Leen (2), O’ Keeffe and McSwiney before Na Gaeil replied with two of their own through Flaherty. Half Time score Ballymac 0-08 Na Gaeil 0-04.
Points were exchanged at the start of the second half before another O’ Keeffe free and McSwiney point sent Ballymac into a six point lead. Ballymac took complete control at this stage and added further scores from the excellent Dermot Leen, sub Luke Sweeney and a lovely brace from O’ Keeffe. Ballymac ran out deserving winners in a very sporting game on the score of Ballymac 0-15 Na Gaeil 0-08

Ballymac were away to Duagh for this vital County League Round 7 game on Saturday night.
Ballymac opened the scoring with a point from a free by full forward Frank O’Rahilly. This was quickly answered with a point from play by Duagh’s forward Kieran Duff. The home side added three more points –two from play by Maurice O’Connor and Jason Carmody and one from a close in free before the visitors registered their second score- a free slotted over by Aidan Breen. Duagh replied with a pointed free from full forward Martin Scannell.
The second half was three minutes old when Aidan Breen slotted over a point for Ballymac and followed with another point a few minutes later. Frank O’Rahilly put the visitors into a two point lead with a pointed free in the 13th minute.
From there on in Ballymac were in control and Duagh struggled to get scores. Midway through the half Duagh hit the crossbar but their first score in this half was in the 19th minute when Martin Scannell pointed a free.
Ballymac responded when the magnificent Aidan Breen scored a point from a sideline ball. Shane O’Reilly’s point the visitors further ahead in the 25th minute. Duagh added their second and final score a minute later when Jason Carmody slotted over a point from a free. In the last few minutes Ballymac dominated with points from Aidan Breen and Frank O’Rahillys (free) and an injury time point from Colin McSwiney to give the full time score: Ballymac 0-13 to Duagh 0-08.
This win keeps Ballymac’s hopes for promotion alive as they are now second on the table with 11 points – one point behind leaders St Senan’s.
