Beaufort 1-10
Ballymac 1-13
The seniors kicked off the new county league season with a great win over Beaufort away on Saturday last. Eoin O Siocru had the first point of the game. Beaufort responded with two points. Ballymac then hit a purple patch and had points from Aiden Breen (2), Colin McSwiney, and Genie Griffin. The all important goal then arrived following a great run by Shane Reilly who moved it on to Dan O Shea and with a great pass found Paudie Mac who buried the ball to the net. The home side replied with three points to make it 1-05 to 0-05 to Ballymac at halftime. The second half began with three points from Beaufort but Ballymac replied with points from the impressive Breen (2), Daniel O Shea and McCarthy. Further points from McCarthy, sub Luke Sweeney and O Siocru ended the game as a contest. Beaufort hit the net in the final minute but the day belonged to Ballymac and two vital league points were secured. It was a great display full of heart and courage. Well done to Barry and all the players.
