This county league round 6 game was played at a sunny Listry on Sunday afternoon. The home side were first off the mark with a point from Anthony Kennedy in the first minute. Garry O Sullivan addad a second in the fourth minute. Ballymac had plenty of possession in the first quarter of the game but kicked six wides in that period. Listry added two further points from Derry Ahern before Ballymac got their first point through captain Padraig McCarthy. Listry midfielder Stephen Brown and Ahern had further points to put the home side 0-06 to 0-01 ahead.

Ballymac’s Daniel O Shea had the last point of the half to make the half time score 0-06 to 0-02. The second half began with two points from Ballymac’s Mossie Shanahan and Eoin O Siocru. Listry responded with a point and then struck for the all important goal from Derry Ahern to move them six points clear. To Ballymac’s credit they responded well and in the next ten minutes reeled of six unanswered points, including a great score from distance by wing back Michael Leen. With five minutes remaining the game was level at 1-08 to 0-11 and a grandstand finish was in store. Listry put their noses in front through Patrick Sheehan, but with the game entering stoppage time Ballymac’s Aiden Breen put over the final score to draw the game.
