Ballymac 2 – 10 John Mitchels 1 – 6. Our Senior team had a good victory on Sunday last away to John Mitchells in a game which doubled up as a Coiste Tra Li and St. Brendan’s Board league fixture. Ballymac started the better and lead 0 – 5 to 0 – 2 at the end of the first quarter. Our scores were Dermot Leen, Aidan Breen, Padraig McCarthy and Gene Griffin (0 – 2). Mitchels came more into the game as the half progressed and by half time led on a score of 1 – 5 to 0 – 5 their goal coming at the end of the half. Two early Padraig McCarthy points and a pointed free from the opposition left 2 points between the teams mid-way through the second half. Two goals in a space of a minute, the first from Padraig McCarthy and the second from Denis Leen when he was at the end of a superb passing movement to finish to the net, put Ballymac in a dominant position and from here to the end of the game they played some excellent football and further points from Dermot Leen, Robert Fitzgerald and Padraig McCarthy saw us run out deserving winners. Our defence were very resolute throughout and limited the home team to just one pointed free in the second half.

FAOI 16: Ballymac 5-12 Knock/Brosna 3-03
Played in very heavy underfoot conditions last Sunday morning our lads put in a great performance & came out with a good win. We started well with a goal from Michael Hoare which was quickly followed by points from Darragh Regan, Micháel Reidy & Michael Hoare. Knock/Brosna then put in 1-01 before we replied with two goals from Micháel Reidy & points from Paddy O’Donnell & Darragh Regan. Knock/Brosna put over another point and with us getting more control of the game the same players Paddy & Darragh popped over a point each. Second half began with a goal by Knock/Brosna before we took over the game with points by Keelan Brosnan (2) Darragh Regan (3) and two goals from Cathal Dunne we finished the game strong. Great credit must be given to our defence on the day as they kept it very tight at the back and with Brian Lonergan in fine form they can be delighted with their performance. Knock/Brosna scored 2-1 in the closing stages. Next Sunday we play Currow at home and training will continue on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm.
