BWILDERED
Saturday, 2nd May was one of the biggest days of the year for Ballymac GAA Club with Bwildered the John Lenihan Wilderness Challenge taking place in Gleanageenty. The overcast day certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of the participants as all thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive. Thanks to all those who participated. The success of the event certainly didn’t happen by accident as several people contributed to its success. A huge thank you to Lee Strand for their sponsorship of the event especially to their Head of Marketing Teresa Higgins Walker whose promotion of Bwildered ensured it got maximum exposure. The Club were also very fortunate to have men of the calibre of Joe O Connor of Nissus Fitness and John Lenihan who designed a course which gained widespread approval from participants. Club Officers Joanne Riordan and Tom Herlihy also deserve huge credit, Joanne devoting a huge amount of time organising the administration of the event while Tom also devoted many hours preparing the course whilst also giving his farm yard on the day for registration and post event refreshments. Thanks also the land owners who gave their lands for the event. Bwildered could not have taken place without the volunteering of stewards, caterers and many more people who gave their time on the day. Certainly community spirit was alive and well in Gleanageenty on Saturday morning last. Roll on Bwildered 2016!
