The official opening of our revamped pitch will take place on Saturday 25th Feb.
It will be a very exciting occasion with the Kerry Senior Team taking on Kildare in a challenge game. Kieran McGeeney’s Kildare have committed to bringing a full strength team for the game. Throw in for the game is 2.30pm.
At half time in the match the 2012 Ballymac U10 teams (Boys and Girls combined) will play in an exhibition game. This team will also form a guard of honour for the senior teams as they leave the dressing rooms.
All registered juveniles will be entered into a draw to choose two mascots (one for each team). This draw will take place at the next Club meeting under the stewardship of Coiste Na Nog Chairman Jer Lynch.
This promises to be a massive occasion for the club and to be sure it runs smoothly a large number of stewards form the club will be required on the day. Anyone interested in helping out please contact Chairman Stephen O Brien 086 8376432, Secretary Kieran Savage 087 2221720, PRO Anthony Curran 087 2713507 or any Club Officer
SENIOR TEAM:
Ballymac played St Pats Blenerville in the 1st round of the St Brendans league at home on Sunday last in very wet conditions. Ballymac started well and raced into a 0-04 to 0-01 lead, St Pats responded well and the teams were laval at 0-04 each at half time.
The second half was also close until a St Pats goal with 10 minutes to go this score proved crutial and they added another 0-02 to leave the score at full time St Pats 1-09 Ballymac 0-07
Much credit must go to the players on both teams for the high standard of football played in very trying conditions
