Ballymac Senior Team continued their unbeaten start to the year after playing out a draw in their St. Brendan’s Board league game with Churchill on Sunday last. With underfoot conditions greasy on the Ballymac pitch the scores were hard to come by in the first half leaving the half time score Churchill 1 – 3 Ballymac 0 – 4. The second half saw an improvement in scoring with Ballymac adding 9 points and a Padraig McCarthy goal, however Churchills ability to take their goal scoring chances saw the game finish level at the full time whistle on a score of Ballymac 1 – 13 Churchill 4 – 04.
MINOR TEAM
Our minors took on Kerins O Rahillys in Round 2 of the Coiste Tra Li minor league in Ballyrickard on Sunday last. Ballymac impressed in the first half and went in at half time just 2 points in arrears on a score line of Kerins O Rahillys 0 – 4 Ballymac 0 – 2. Ballymac points coming from Christy Leen. A highlight of this half was a magificent double save from Ballymac goal keeper Paudie O Connor. Kerins O Rahillys playing with the elements in the second half began to dominate and a succession of points saw them pull away as the half progressed. However, some heroic defending by our lads ensured the Ballymac net stayed intact and indeed Ger Browne was unlucky not to goal with a shot late in the game. The town team ran out deserving winners to take the two points on offer.
