Senior Team News:
Fossa 2 – 12 Ballymac 1 – 10
Fossa maintained their 100% record in Division 4 with a five point victory over Ballymac on Saturday evening last.
After 10 minutes the sides were level. Vinnie Horan and Eanna Reidy pointing for Ballymac with the Fossa replies from Tadgh O Shea and Donal O Sullivan. Fossa were thankful to goalkeeper Colin Myers who made 2 fantastic saves to the deny Ballymac goals while Ballymac defender T J Casey had to be equally alert to avert a Fossa chance. Fossa stretched their lead with further points from O Shea (free) O Sullivan and 2 from Paudie Clifford with Ballymac replies from Vinnie Horan and Aidan Breen (free) to leave the half time score Fossa 0 – 8 Ballymac 0 – 4.
Daniel O Shea narrowed the gap in the second minute of the second half but further Fossa points from O Sullivan and Matt Rennie and a goal from Lorcan Daly on the 15th minute saw them extend their lead. Points from Vinnie Horan and Padraig McCarthy gave Ballymac hope but when Paudie Clifford scored Fossa second goal with 10 minutes remaining to make the score 2 -10 to 0 -7 the homesides outlook was bleak. However, they never through in the towel and an Aidan Breen goal followed by points from the Sweeney brothers Luke and Michael and Sean Savage meant only a goal seperated the sides with 2 minutes remaining but 2 late points by Fintan Coffey and Paudie Clifford ensured the East Kerry side took the 2 points on offer.
Best wishes are also extended to Fossa Lorcan Daly who was stretchered off with a knee injury during the second half.
The lads continue their Co. League campaign on Saturday evening next when they travel to Lispole for a 7.30pm throw in game.

There will be in excess of 630 games all around the South West region during these days. This event will bring approximately 65 thousand people to the area for the weekend!!

The Feile begins on the Friday evening, June 24th with each team playing two games on the Friday evening. The travelling teams & mentors will be entertained after the matches in the “Earl Of Desmond Hotel” on the Friday night. Games will begin again on Saturday morning at 10.30am with each of the Ballymacelligott teams playing their visiting teams on the main pitch in Ballymac.

Our club is likely to see in excess of 300 visiting players, parents, mentors & supporters on the Friday evening and the Saturday morning. Most of the parents of players on the three Ballymac teams are housing pairs of visiting players over the weekend and will be busy dropping and picking up both their own kids and the players from the visiting club throughout the weekend. As such they won’t be available to help out with car parking, stewarding and all the ancillary things that go hand in hand with an event of this size.
We want our visitors to leave having had a great weekend as our guests. It’s the Feile committee wish that we give them that good experience and we won’t achieve that without the help of Coiste nOg parents. If you are available for any part of the Friday evening, or Saturday morning, and want to be part of a very historic weekend. Please text Fionnan Fitzgerald on 087 9860441 to volunteer. Meetings to take place this week with host families to discuss the schedule for Feile.
