Ballymac V Listry
Junior County league
Sunday 28th of July 2019
Ballymac welcomed Listry in their fourth game in Group 4 of the Junior League. Final score Ballymac 3-17, Listry 0-13.
Ballymac got off to a great start scoring 1-3 before Listry had a score on the board, the goalscorer was goalkeeper/forward and general club all-rounder Paudie Laide! Ballymac tagged on some wonderfully taken points and a second goal from Padraig McCarthy left Ballymac leading at the interval with a half-time score of 2-12 to 0-5. The second half was evenly enough contested between both teams with several Ballymac players getting scores on the board. Our backs performed equally well in defence and Ballymac eventually finished the game as winners! This should ensure that we qualify for the latter stages of the competition.
Senior team:
The next round of The Senior Football League is against Ardfert and we do not know the date of this game yet. It depends on the progress of St Brendan’s Hurling Team in The Garvey’s SuperValu Senior Hurling Championship.

U16 Boys
Our u 16s Travelled to Renard to take on St Mary’s / Renard in round 4 of the County League . Despite wet conditions, our boys were quick of the mark and lead by 2 points after 5 minutes. The Home side responded quickly and tied the game after 10 minutes . Three points from Donal Daly pushed us ahead once more, but the home side responded again with 2 points of their own. Conor Brick and Maurice O’Connell added further points and a Goal from the boot of Adam Joy put us in a good position coming up to half time, but the home side responded again with a goal and a point to leave the half time score Ballymac 1 10 St Mays / Renard 2 05 .
St Mary’s / Renard started the second half brightly and had the game level after 3 minutes with two excellent points . However our boys showed some great character to take the game to the locals and put the home side on the back foot for the remainder of the second half . We scored 2 04 in the process , one Goal from Sean Horan and the other from Mark Brick . St Mary’s /Renard tried hard but just couldn’t match the experience and guile of our boys . The final score was Ballymac 3 14 to st Mary’s / Renard 2 10 .
Players to excel on the night Gary Lynch, Luke O’Connell, Mark Brick, Donal Daly Conor Brick, James Bailey, James Kenny and Cathal Culloty .
We play Kilcummin in our last game at home next Wednesday 31st July in Ballymac at 7 .
