FAOI 14
County League Division 2A
Fossa 1-7 Ballymac 6-10
We travelled to Fossa on a fine evening for football. Conditions were dry and the pitch was in good shape considering all the rain we have had From the throw in we had a very tight game with neither side giving too much space Dara Leen opened our scoring with a well taken goal.
This settled us and the boys began to open up the space and played their passing game to great effect. Aidan was beginning to find form also and finished the game with 2-1.
Half Time Fossa 1-7 Ballymac 3-5
On resumption Fossa threw everything at us and opened the second half with two quick points. Our boys responded with a well taken goal by Sean Polman Daamen This broke the Fossa resolve and our boys were now on top all over the field. Johnny Lowe had a man of the match performance and is excelling on the half forward line. Our defenders didn’t give an inch and are a tight knit group Dylan and Cas in midfield gave a solid hour. In the final 10 minutes we owned the ball and ran out comfortable winners. A great result which sets us up for a home Derby v Desmonds on Wednesday 20th.

Blue Team
The U12 boys played Austin Stacks last Sunday evening on the main pitch in Ballymac. The first half was a close encounter but Stack’s took their chances better than the home team to lead by seven points at half-time. However in the second half Ballymac rose to the challenge and Gary Lynch scored a great goal straight from the throw in. This was followed by a further goal from Adam Wharton. The lads tagged on a further ten points in total to run out winners on a score line of 3-15 to 4-07. This was a very entertaining game with the home team performing extremely well in the second half in particular.

Gold Team
Our Gold Team had a convincing victory over Austin Stacks on Sunday evening last. The game was over as a contestant at half time as goals by our lethal inside forwards Michael Prendergast and Luke McGill ensured we built up a big lead. Good link play by half forwards Evan Boyle and Niall Collins ensured a good supply of ball to the inside players, while midfielders Sean Rice and Diarmuid Galvin were also to the fore. Stacks came more into the game in the second half but our defence were in no mood to give up easy scores with Luke Horgan, Jack O Connor and Micheal Culloty outstanding while Tommy Palmer in goals was soundness personified. Best wishes are also extended to Aidan Horgan and Raymond Lowe who missed the game due to illness and injury and hopefully it wont be long before we see the 2 boys back in the gold jersey again.
