FAOI 14
U 14s Co league div 2A Ballymac 7-14 Desmonds 2-8. A local derby and bragging rights for the victor we played our near neighbours on a great evening for good football. The sun was out no wind , ideal for our boys. After a tight opening 15 minutes the lads began to find their stride Darragh Broderick had a fine game scoring 4 of our 6 points in the opening half. Our full forward line finished the half with 5 goals Denis 2 Aidan 3. Our defence was its usual miserly self restricting Desmonds to 3 scores in opening half . Eoghan, James, Brian Ciaran, Adam J, Adam K,and Tim are a very cohesive unit and are the platform for a lot of the good work our midfield and forwards finish off. Half time 5-6 to 1-2. The second half continued the same trend. The boys were enjoying their football now and finding space to great effect. Sean Horan and Thomas O Connor were introduced and their fresh legs ran at Desmond tiring defenders. Sean chipped in with two well taken goals . The result was beyond doubt but a great run from midfield by Desmonds brought a point blank save by Eoghan keeping him alert ! Again the lads fitness and smart play is guiding them through these games. Great to see all players from number 8 to 17 contribute to the scoreline to give us a great win. Next week we play Firies away to decide our placing for semifinals a win and we get home advantage.
