Ballymac U14 boys started their town league campaign with a home fixture against Na Gaeil on Tuesday the 13th of September. This was a good competitive game which Na Gaeil won by three points on the night. Friday the 16th of September was the agreed date for the rescheduled Castleisland District A Final between Ballymac A and Currow with the venue being Knocknagoshel. Our boys performed very well on the night and were competitive throughout. Unfortunately, they came up short on the night on a score line of 3-13 to 2-13. Many thanks to all for their support on the night. Our U14B boys will play a challenge game in Ballymac on Wednesday the 21st at 6.45pm against Moyvane. Can all players arrive at the ground no later than 6.15pm.

We have a challenge match against Firies last Thursday night the 15th of September at 6.30 pm on our training pitch. We had good competitive games on the evening. Many thanks to Firies GAA for travelling for the games. We competed in the Castleisland District U10 blitz in Cordal last Saturday the 17th of September. We entered two teams in the blitz. Ballymac A were in a league with Cordal, Scartaglin & Knocknagoshel. Ballymac B were in a group with Knock/Brosna, Currow and Castleisland Desmonds. Both teams performed very well in the group stages and qualified for the A and B finals. First up was the A final where we took on Castleisland Desmond’s. This was a very competitive game with a lot of good quality football being played. Ballymac came out on top by the narrowest of margins in an excellent final. There was great delight at the final whistle and Conor Martin accepted the plaque on behalf of his team. Next up were the Ballymac B team who competed very well against a strong Cordal side. Cordal went on to win the B shield but our boys did themselves and their club proud. Shane Crossan picked up the runners up medals on behalf of his team mates. Many thanks to Cordal GAA and all involved on a very good blitz. The academy for our U10 panel did not take place last Sunday morning the 18th of September due to the Blitz the previous day. The academy continues next Sunday the 25th of September at the usual time.
