Our u 15s played in The Donal Walsh Live Life Tournament on Saturday 4 th of May in Healy Park Ballyrickard . We were in a group which consisted of Na Gaeil, Ardfert and Laune Rangers .
After a Brief talk to parents Coaches & Players from Elma Walsh and Dr Susan Lawlor the games got underway.
Our first game was against Na Gaeil , we were slow to settle and found ourselves down at the interval 3 03 to 1 01 . However we played much better in the second half and out scored Na Gaeil 2 01 to 1 02 in the second half, our goal coming from Donal Daly . Kieran Slattery was outstanding in this game , Maurice O’Connell & Luke O’Connell put in a huge effort . The final score was Na Gaeil 4 05 to Ballymac 3 02 .
Our opponents for the second Game were Ardfert . Playing against the wind , we were under pressure for the first half , and the concession of two goals early on made it difficult for our boys. At the interval we trailed by 7 points , 2 02 to 0 01 pt .
However we played much better in the second half as Luke O’Connell , Luke & Aidan Horgan and Eoin Creedon showed great determination. Unfortunately we came up short at the final whistle on the final score line of Ardfert 2 05 to Ballymac 1 02 .
In our final game against Laune Rangers we really impressed and showed great determination and skill . We took the game to Laune Rangers and with Gary lynch playing a stormer at midfield, we lead the Rangers by 1 05 to 0 01 at the interval. In the second half against the wind , we continued to play well , Mossie Brennan Padraig Heffernan and Michael Culloty showed great skill and determination.
Thanks to Kerins O’Rahilly’s for hosting us on the Day , and to all parents who travelled and supported us .
Congrats to Kerins O’Rahilly’s on winning the cup and Na Gaeil who won the shield . Well done .
