Our annual juvenile medal presentation will take place in the Ballygarry House Hotel on Bank Holiday Monday Oct 31st, commencing at 3pm and concluding at 6pm, which gives a chance to all those youngsters to go “trick or treating” thereafter. As well as the awarding of medals and trophies to all our juvenile teams there will be spot prizes throughout the afternoon as well as a draw for a holiday voucher to the value of €1000 as well as other cash prizes. The weekly Club Lotto will also take place that evening in the hotel. Finger food, sandwiches, teas and coffee will also be available at the function as well as a DJ who will play all the latest hits for the youngsters. The cost is €5 per person and we do hope that ye can all make the medal presentation on the Bank Holiday afternoon. A great occasion is promised and it is always one of the highlights of the Juvenile season. See ye all there !
Ballymac Academy ;
Our last training session of the year for our U-6s, U-8s and U-10s will take place this coming Sunday Oct 16th at 11 am sharp in the Senior pitch. It has been a long but enjoyable and successful season once again with our numbers increasing year on year. All of this would not be possible without the co-operation, help and interest of all our mentors throughout the year. The club is again greatly indebted to their services and their dedication to the promotion of Gaelic games in the parish is immense. The club again takes this opportunity to thank all the mentors, coaches and of course parents for all their voluntary help during 2011.

Our U-6s under the stewardship of Martin Lowe and Ger Collins travelled into Connolly Park to take on the “Rockies” last Sunday morning and all who attended acquitted themselves very well indeed. Two games were played with captain Diarmuid Galvin leading his team in a very evenly balanced game. The other game was played at the same time with team captain Jack Joy to the fore in an exciting encounter. The footballing skills displayed by all players were second to none and the future of Ballymac and indeed Kerry football is secure. Foireann Gorm : Luke Horgan, Aidan Horgan, Jamie Burke, Shane Gilroy, Tom Long, Kealan Lynch, Raymond Lowe, Jack Slattery, Luke Silles, Jack Joy. Both our U-8 teams were also in action against Stacks last Sunday and both teams served up thrilling encounters. Garry Lynch was in flying form, greatly assisted by Sean Pollman Daaman and Maurice O Connell, Adam Sheehy and Andy Rogers did well in attack as did Adam Joy, Tim Pollman Daaman and eager beaver Sean Horan. Denis Brosnan and James Bailey also featured prominently in the game. In the other game, we really put it up to the Stacks with Darren Breen leading the
attack by example. Eoin Creedon and Cormac Costello covered every blade of grass as did Mark O Connor and James Kenny. Óisin Shanahan pulled off some outstanding saves in goals and Jared O Briain showed well all throughout.. Adam Wharton is proving to be a sound and reliable defender and both Jack Dowd and Kieran Slattery added to the cause. The seasons hard work has certainly led to progress and fruition. Well Done to all players.

Ballymac U-10s played Austin Stacks in Connolly Park last Sunday morning also and they gave a very good account of themselves, despite missing 7 first
Team players. With Michelle Lynch deputising in goals and Brian Cassidy dominating in midfield, Ballymac brought the game to Stacks. Liam O Brien,
Tommy Brosnan, Ciarán Brosnan, Darragh Lynch all played superbly well as did Diarmuid Lynch and Adam Kelly who was drafted up from the U-8s. Aidan O Brien Jonathan Lowe and Oscar Reidy Gilroy gave distinguished displays along with Eoghan Kenny, Tomás Lynch and Kyle O Connor. All these players have excelled right throughout the season and its great to see them all persist to the end. Well done again. Thanks to Jer, Eddie and Micheál for helping with the U-10s on the morning.

Our U-12 “Blue” team under captain Eddie Rogers regained the Castleisland District League after a hard fought victory over Scartaglin in Ballymac last Sunday afternoon. It was a tense and tight affair right throughout and in truth the game could have gone either way until Daniel Goggin netted a second-half hat-trick to seal the win. Keelan Brosnan dominated in defence for the “Blues”, ably assisted by Cathal Dunne, Tadhg Brick and Barry Lyons. Eddie Rogers and Eoin O Malley had a titanic tussle in mid-field and in attack Darragh Regan was very effective along with Michael Hoare and two-goal hero Daire Keane. David Nolan Tighe played his part when introduced in the second-half. A truly deserving victory for a totally committed side who have gone through thick and thin over the past few months. Well done to all including mentors Fiona Goggin, Aidan Dunne and Liam Nolan.
“Gold”
Unfortunately our Gold side came a cropper in the Shield encounter against Brosna “A” team, who were by far the superior and one can only question the seeding of teams in both divisions this year. Despite this set-back all our players gave a good account of themselves and with 7 of the current team under 10 it can only auger well for the future. It was an honest endeavour given by all and mentors, Tony Silles, Liam Nolan and Gene O Keeffe were both pround and delighted with their performance. Foireann : Eoghan Leahy, Liam O Brien, Ciarán Nolan Tighe, Joshua O Keeffe, David Rogers, Liam O Malley, Kieran Coggin, Dylan Dunne Moriarty, David McCarthy, Darragh Broderick, James Carmody, Eoghan O Donnell, David Daly, Rachel Godley, Cian Godley, Darragh Leen, Eoin Culloty, Alusin Jah, Cillian Gallagher.
