Congrats to our U-12 Gold Team which topped the table in the Central League by winning all their five games. On Monday week last they travelled to Dingle and overcame the home side to maintain their 100 % record in the competition, Our Blue team were also in action away to Dingle but ended on the wrong side of a 3-10 to 1-08 scoreline. However, the Blue side bounced back with a hard fought victory over Castleisland Desmonds in Rd 1 of the Castleisland District League on Sunday evening last. With Daire Keane in flying form scoring a succession of points and both Tadhg Brick and Brian Lonergan carrying the game to the home side, it was a hard-earned victory. Cathal Dunne and Joshua O Keeffe also stood out in a tense tussle and Cillian Gallagher and David Rogers were impressive in defence. Rd 2 takes place this coming week-end when we take on Cordal. The Gold team received a walk-over from Desmonds as they were unable to field a full team but a game did get under way. However, young Dean Lenihan received a nasty injury to his chest late in the second half and was attended to by medics at the scene. We wish Dean a speedy recovery and the club would like to thank Ann Kenny and Tina Gallagher for being present and for the great care and attention to Dean. A speedy recovery also to Rachel Godley who suffered a hand injury in the same game.
