A large group of Juveniles accompanied by both mentors and parents travelled by bus to Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday last to watch Kerry take on Cork in the Munster Football semi-final. Basking in the summer sun in the uncovered stand, our lads and lasses thoroughly enjoyed the day out despite the outcome of the game in the end. It was a great experience for all the children and we would like to thank parents Nora Curran, Mary Godley, Siobhán Leen, Mike Brosnan, James Godley, Tony Silles and Liam Nolan for travelling and supervising the children on the outing. No doubt, the Kingdom will be back with a vengeance!

Last week we hosted Rathmore in Rd 3 of Phase 2 of the County League with both Team Blue and Team Gold taking on the East Kerry sides. Ballymac welcomed back some five or six players to the fold after some time of absence and to their credit helped with the performances of both teams. The Blue team with Tadhg Brick, Barry Lyons, Cathal Dunne and Brian Lonergan to the fore dominated their game and Ballymac Blue team emerged as victors after a great tussle with Rathmore. Daire Keane, Joshua O Keeffe, James Carmody, Cillian Gallagher and Alusin Jah also contributed to a fine victory. Our Gold team, despite going under to a strong and physical Rathmore side, put in a massively improved performance from the previous time we played them. Both David Rogers and Kieran Coggins brought the game to Rathmore and the O Brien brothers Aidan and Liam were in imperious form in the Ballymac defence. Rachel Godley and Oscar Reidy Gilroy tried their heart out in attack as did Cian Godley, Darragh Lynch and Dean Lenihan at different stages of the game. Well done to both teams for honest and fair endeavour in the two games. And on Monday evening last we played Kerins O Rahillys in Rd 4 of the County League with report in next weeks notes.

We had an extraordinary turnout last Saturday morning in Desmonds pitch of our U-8s when close on 30 kids were present to take part in Leg 1 of the Castleisland District U-8 blitz. On a sunny summers morning we were the only club who was able to field two teams and both sides acquitted themselves very well winning a total of 5 out of six games in the tournament. Players such as Evan Boyle, Jack O Flaherty, Jaried O Briain, Tommy Palmer, Luke Horgan, Mark O Connor, Garry Lynch, Jack O Connor and Peter Stein all impressed as did everybody else as a wonderful spectacle of football was put on display. Thanks to John Rice, Roland Rogers, Ger Collins and Eddie O Connell for assisting and refereeing on the morning. This coming Saturday June 16th, Ballymac hosts Leg 2 of this Blitz commencing at 11 am. See ye all there once again.
