It has been a very busy few days for our U-14s with the conclusion of the Castleisland District League taking place. On Sunday week last in the Quarter Final Ballymac put a very young Currow side to the sword with an accomplished performance. Players to impress in the game were Jack O Shea, Garry Sheehy, Eoin Lyons and Killian Brosnan. And then on Wednesday evening last we overpowered Cordal/Scart in the semi-final with outstanding displays from brothers Eddie and Chris Rogers, Tomás O Connor, Kealan Brosnan and Jerdie O Shea. Others to step up to the mark were Michael Hoare, Chris Leen with two goals, Darragh Regan and Aaron Dunne. The final was then played this Tuesday evening Sept 13 with result and report too late for print. Report in next weeks notes.

Our U-11 team produced a superb display of football against O Rahillys last Monday week, despite the harsh weather conditions. It was all action throughout with players such as Alusin Jah, David Daly, David McCarthy, Eoghan O Donnell and Daire Keane taking the game to the blues. Barry Lyons and Brian Lonergan were in imperious form on the night as was Rachel and Cian Godley. Daniel Goggin made a second half appearance after a very long spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury. Last Monday Sept 12th, we travelled to John Mitchels to take on the local side in the final game of the Coiste Thrá Lí U-11 League. Report again will be in next weeks notes.

We hosted our friends from Firies on Sunday last with two games of 11-a-side taking place in Ballymac. Both games were very close indeed with little to separate the sides and despite the gale force winds, both sets of players produced a very high standard of football. Adam Joy. Denis Brosnan, Mark O Connor, Sean Horan, Pádraig O Sullivan, Adam Sheehy, Adam Kelly, Donal Daly, Eoin Creedon, Jared O Briain, Kieran Slattery, Andy Rogers and Sean and Tim Pollmaan Daaman all played their hearts out but a man-of-the-match performance from Cormac Costello just edged victory for Ballymac. Others to shine were James Bailey, Garry Lynch, Maurice O Connell and Adam Wharton. Well done to all who played so brilliantly on the day. Many thanks to Firies for travelling to us.
