Pride of place this week must go to the “history makers” the newly formed u12 girls team. It is the first time Ballymacelligott GAA Club were represented in competitive action in ladies football. The girls took on Corca Dhuine in the North Kerry Ladies on Sunday last in Ballymac. Captain Claire Kenny proudly led the team out on the field for the game. The girls started in whirlwind fashion and had the ball in the net from the first attack. The honour of getting that first score going to Lisa Curran. The team proceeded to put on a superb display of football. The Back line of Niamh Rahilly, Tara Murphy, Lea O’ Neill, Millie Luck, Caroline Hurley and Roisin Long kept things very tight at the back. Midfielders Rachel Godley and Therese Keane won plenty of possession and fed the forwards well. The forward line of Cora Savage, Emily O’ Donoghue, Jade Riordan, Lisa Curran and Michela Murphy put on an exhibition of scoring. Special word for Cora Savage on scoring 4-01 and Captain and keeper Claire Kenny who played in the forward line for the second half and scored 2-01. Well done also to the mentors, Mary Slattery, Kieran Savage, Donal Rahilly, Ger Hurley, Anthony Curran on a job well done.

St. Patricks Day Parade
The club would like to thank all involved in the Patricks Day parade last Saturday in Tralee. With over 50 children in attendance, all sporting the Blue n’ Gold, and with the weather being kind to us, it was a great success once again. Many thanks to the parents who marched with the club and no doubt the children enjoyed themselves.
Ballymac Academy
Our Juvenile academy will begin this coming Sunday March 25th in the Senior pitch at 11 am. All juveniles from U-6, U-8 and U-10s are welcome to the field and registration will also take place on the morning. We ask children to wear the Ballymac Club gear and let’s hope for fine weather.
Club Merchandise
Club gear which includes Jerseys, shorts, socks, kit-bags, hoodies etc can be obtained at the Club shop every Sunday morning from 11am to 12 15pm. One can also avail of a Club voucher which can be given as the ideal gift. This voucher can then be used to purchase club gear at any time.
Faoi 14
Our U-14s had a second challenge match on Sunday last when they took on town rivals Austin Stacks at Ballymac. Another encouraging display from all as they took the game to Stacks from the very outset. Players to impress on the day were Keelan Brosnan at full back, Robert Dowd at half back, Jerdie O Shea and Paddy O Donnell in attack. Mentors Tony Silles and Gene O Keeffe were very satisfied with the performance and this augers well for the season ahead. The team has a bye in the first round of the County League next Wednesday March 28th and are due to play Ballyduff in Rd 2 on Wednesday April 4th with throw-in at 6 45pm in Ballyduff.
Faoi 12
We travelled to Dr. Crokes, Killarney last Monday for a challenge match at this age group. All present acquitted themselves very well in advance of the County League which will begin in April. Well done to all, and mentors Fiona Goggin and Aidan Dunne will be confident heading into the League in the coming weeks
