AUSTIN STACKS B 3-7 BALLYMAC 2-7
We played our first game in the Coiste Tra-li league away to stacks last Wednesday evening. Fielding a much changed team we went four points behind early on, some of our chances dropping short due to playing into a strong wind. A well worked move involving Cian Godley. Josh, Barry Lyons and James Carmody was finished to the net by Josh O’Keeffe. Stacks then got a goal and Barry Lyons replied for us with a goal from a free. Stacks added another point and might have got more only for good defending by Cathal Dunne in goals, Dylan Dunne, and Liam O’Brien. Half time score Stacks 1-5 Ballymac 2-0
Points from Dara Keane, Barry and two from Dara Broderick, including a well taken free, had us 2-4 to 1-6 ahead midway through the half. Two more Dara Keane points and one from Josh saw us move further ahead only for stacks to score 1-1 and tie the game. A very dubious free awarded to Stacks helped them set up the final goal which won the game for them. We are due to play Kerins O’Rahillys at home this Wednesday evening.
All members of the under 14 panel are glad to hear that our excellent corner back Eoin Culloty is making steady progress and we hope his recovery continues well.

FAOI 12 :
Ballymac 3 – 4 Na Gaeil 4 – 9
Despite the final score line this game was a lot closer affair than the result suggests. Our boys started well and played some good football in the opening half, Aidan O Brien working tirelessly making some great runs for half back and was rewarded with a well taken goal. Hal time saw us lead 2 – 3 to 1 – 5. Na Gaeil began to dominate the second half and our lads found it difficult to make any breakthrough. We trailed by 4 points with a few minutes to go but luck and energy ran out on us and Na Gaeil scored 2 late goals with a strong finish. The boys can hold their heads high to be competing with these Division 1 teams and some improvements will see them challenging for honours at this level.
FAOI 12 :
Dingle 1 – 4 Ballymac 5 – 13
We got back to winning ways with a win against the boys from West Kerry. Indeed we were on top of our opponents on all areas of the field and the result was never in doubt. Some nice link up played by the lads saw some well taken scores.
FAOI 11: We play Laune Rangers next Monday night at 7pm in the final round of Div 1 of Central Region and with a win at home we will see our Gold team crowned champions as they are currently unbeaten. Best of Luck to all involved
ACADEMY: Academy will return as usual on Sunday morning at 11am.
MÍLE BUIOCHAS: Sincere Thanks to all coaches who travelled to Limerick with the children on the bus to the semi-final. A brilliant day was had by all.
