BALLYMAC 5-09 CORDAL /SCART 3-07
We played Cordal/Scart at home in the Castleisland district A final last Friday evening. Playing against the wind it took us some time to settle and we were 1-02 to 0-01 down after 6 minutes Cillian Gallagher our point scorer. A long effort by Keelan found Daire Keane who passed back to Keelan to score our first goal. Michael Hoare added a point and moments later laid off the ball to Daire Keane who again goaled for us. Almost immediately the visitors went upfield and goaled to tie the scores at 2-02 each midway through the half. Michael Hoare then goaled and when the ball broke loose close in Keelan was on hand to goal again. Eoin O’Malley found Dara Reagan who found the net with a thunderous shot, the captain leading by example. An injury to Keelan and 5 minutes of injury time allowed the visitors to score 1-02 which could have been more only for great goalkeeping by David Rodgers. After a pulsating first half Ballymac were 4 points up at the break 5-02 to 3-04. A score of 5-02 from 9 attempts a very good return.
The second half was less frantic Cordal/Scart scoring two early points. This was as close as they got and Dara Reagan and Barry Lyons pointed for us. The full back line of Tadhg Brick, Eddie Rodgers and Ross Mansfield were holding firm and in front of them Liam o Brien, Eoin O’Malley and the outstanding Josh O’Keeffe were completely on top. Keelan Brosnan kept the scoreboard ticking over mainly from frees. Liam O’Malley and Cillian were busy as usual and James Carmody was getting stuck in. We were 5-09 to 3-06 ahead after 25 minutes and were eight points ahead at the finish. After the game Richie Cotter, chairman of Castleisland district presented the winners trophy to a delighted captain Dara Reagan who thanked referee Andy Browne and Ballymac mentors Tony, Gene, Willie, Martin and Mike. Tadhg O’Halloran from the county board was on hand to present the county league winners trophy to captain Michael Hoare on a great evening for the club. Thanks to all who attended the game and supported us on facebook.

Annascaul 5-14 Ballymac 5-05
Played in Annascaul on Monday last week this was a very entertaining game. Annascaul from our previous experience are a well drilled team and they showed it again tonight with some excellent team play. We were far more competitive than our previous encounter and hasd some good scores and passages of play, however ultimately Annascauls more skilful midfield proved our undoing. A far improved display by our lads
Note due to lack of B team numbers by Annascaul only an A game took place. Apologies to travelling parents and players but this was outside our control.

Ballymac B 3-06 Mitchels B 1-04
As the number of scores suggests this was a very close affair and a great game of football.Mitchels worked very hard when they did not have the ball and put our guys under immense pressure. Bryan Cassidy was outstanding on the night for us scoring some brilliant goals and points from play. Ably assisted by Aidan o Brien Ciaran Brosnan and captain Jack Tobin the boys ptovided our forwards with plenty of ball however time and again the mitchels defense stood firm. It wasend to end stuff and our lads picked off some nice scores through Bryan Godley Jonatahn Lowe and Kyle o Connor to give us some breathing space coming up to the final whistle. This was a hard earned victory which will stand to the boys.
