On the restart Eoin O’Malley put Michael Hoare through for our second goal, and he added a point minutes later. Dara Reagan then pointed and followed this by soloing through from midfield to find the net. Dara pointed again as did Josh and ML Hoare. The visitors added 3 points before Brian Lonergan and Eoin oMalley put the game beyond doubt by both scoring goals. Both sides got two more points each, D Reagan got one and Eddie Rodgers joined the attack to get the final point. Liam O’Malley gave a very energetic display, with David Rodgers, Josh O’ Keeffe and Dara Keane in fine form. We now take on Gaeltacht in a playoff on Monday the 27th of April at 19.00 in Annascaul to decide who goes through to the semi finals to play against Annascaul.
U 14 County League Senans 2-3 Ballymac 5-9
The boys got back to winning ways last Wednesday evening. Playing away from home is never easy but the boys worked hard for this victory. Brian Cassidy was immense at full back and did a man marking job on his man to repel any threat Senan’s had. Our midfielders David and Cian were on top also and provided great ball to our forwards. Darragh lynch benefitted from the good service from midfield most and goaled twice for us. All the lads won their individual battles. Our defence was very solid with Ciaran, Tim, Sean, Adam, Liam, Brian, and Aidan out in front of their opponents all the time. This laid the platform and Senan’s could not unlock us. This was a workmanlike performance and one that will stand to the boys. They are beginning to adapt to the full size pitch and we hope to build on this for our last league game against Firies.FAOI 12
Ballymac Blue Team 5 – 18 Castleisland Desmonds 2 – 07
Played last Sunday evening the 26th of April in Ballymac once again in brilliant sunshine the Ballymac lads put in another excellent performance and came out deserved winners on the night. The lads were a joy to watch with their fast open attacking football, staunch defending and superb point kicking. Next Sunday evening we travel to Fossa to take on the locals in the last round of County League. A win here will see them crowned County League winners. If you are free next Sunday evening please come along and support the boys which would be very much appreciated.
ACADEMY
The academy took place on Sunday morning on a beautiful sunny morning. There was a good turnout in all the age groups. Our U10 boys showed continued improvement with Tommy Palmer, Evan O Brien, Niall Collins, Jamie Lynch and William O Donoghue impressing. Next weekend our lads have a busy schedule travelling to Castleisland on Friday night for the first round of Go Games for the Castleisland area and playing Austin Stacks on Sunday in Caherslee at 11.00am. Best on the day for the U8’s were Eoin Joy, Luke Silles, and Stephen Turner.
