BALLYMAC 7-8 KENMARE 6-6: In glorious sunshine we travelled to Kenmare on 22nd of April. New forward Brian Lonergan scored two goals early on, but Kenmare replied also with two goals. Another goal from Keelan and two points from Daire Keane saw us lead at half time 3-3 to 2-3.
Darragh Reagan scored 3 points on the restart, and Kenmare replied with 1-1.Another Kenmare goal saw them edge in front. This seemed to spur our lads on and straight from the kick out Eoghan O’Malley and Keelan combined for the latter to goal. Three more goals followed, two from Daire Keane and another from David Nolan. Kenmare did not give in and scored two late goals, but we had 5 points to spare at the finish.
BALLYMAC 2-15 MILTOWN/CASTLEMAINE 2-5 Our second game of the week was at home to Milltown/Castlemaine on last Wednesday evening. A low scoring first half, 2 points each from Michael Hoare and Liam O’Malley, and 3 from Darragh Reagan saw us lead at half time 0-7 to 1-2. On the restart Darragh Reagan kept the scoreboard ticking over ,and at the other end, Eoin Culloty, Liam O’Brien ,Cillian Gallagher and Eddie Rodgers were playing well. After 20 minutess came a great score form Ballymac, the ball was moved the length of the field where Darragh Reagan was on hand to finish to the net. We were now in complete control and were comfortable winners.
FAOI 12: We played St. Senans last Sunday night in Rd.4 of U12 County Football League. We came up against a very strong St. Senans team and with us down a number of players the lads put up a great performance and great credit must be given to all. Unfortunately St. Senans had the edge on the night and the game did not go our way. We play our near neighbours Currow next Sunday night in the final round at 7pm in Ballymac.
FAOI 10: The first night of Castleisland District U10 Blitz will take place in Castleisland this Thursday Night at 7pm.
FAOI 8: The first night of Castleisland District U8 Blitz will take place the following week in Castleisland. No date fixed yet.
ACADEMY: Academy was in full swing on Sunday morning. The U10 girls that impressed their mentors with their energy and enthusiasm were Grainne Galvin, Sophie O Donoghue, Ciara Palmer and Yvonne Hurley. The U6 boys were equally impressive and well done to all especially Conall Savage, Luke Silles, Stephen Turner, Lee Wharton and Cian Harris. Setting a fantastic example to all with their talent on the field were Luke Horgan, Michael Culloty, Michael Brosnan, Sean Rice, Kealan Lynch, Aidan Horgan and Diarmuid O’Shea for the U8 boys. Well done to all the U10 boys and best of luck in your blitz on Thursday.
