MINORS
Our Minor team got their Co. League campaign off to a winning start by defeating Currow in a high scoring game played in Ballymac on Sunday last. It was the away side which struck first goaling in the first minute, but Ballymac came into the game well and the succession of points and a Cian Lonergan goal saw us lead at half time on a score of Ballymac 1 – 7 Currow 1 – 1. A Currow goal early in the second half cut the deficit but Cillian Brosnan netted to increase the home sides lead. Two further Currow goals and some excellent point taking by Ballymac saw the scores level with 10 minutes remaining. Ballymac 2 – 9 Currow 4 – 3. It was the home side who were to finish the stronger and two more Cillian Brosnan goals to complete his hat trick and some well taken points saw us run out winners by 10 points.

FAOI 16: Ballymac 5-12 Knock/Brosna 3-03
Played in very heavy underfoot conditions last Sunday morning our lads put in a great performance & came out with a good win. We started well with a goal from Michael Hoare which was quickly followed by points from Darragh Regan, Micháel Reidy & Michael Hoare. Knock/Brosna then put in 1-01 before we replied with two goals from Micháel Reidy & points from Paddy O’Donnell & Darragh Regan. Knock/Brosna put over another point and with us getting more control of the game the same players Paddy & Darragh popped over a point each. Second half began with a goal by Knock/Brosna before we took over the game with points by Keelan Brosnan (2) Darragh Regan (3) and two goals from Cathal Dunne we finished the game strong. Great credit must be given to our defence on the day as they kept it very tight at the back and with Brian Lonergan in fine form they can be delighted with their performance. Knock/Brosna scored 2-1 in the closing stages. Next Sunday we play Currow at home and training will continue on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm.
