Faoi 12
Both our U-12 squads were in action last Wednesday evening with our “Blue” team away to Scartaglin and our “Gold” team at home to Currow. After a titanic struggle with Scartaglin we managed to overcome the Maroon and White with a few points to spare and this victory ensures our qualification to the Division 1 Final against Scartaglin once again. Those to impress on the night were Brian Lonergan, David Nolan Tighe, Tadhg Brick and Liam and Eoin O Malley. It was a tough encounter with very little between the sides and it is bound to be a very eagerly awaited clash in the final. Our “Gold” team were unfortunate to be without a number of regulars against Currow but we did manage to produce a worthwhile display with Ciarán Nolan Tighe in brilliant form at full-back. Kieran Coggin was eager-beaver in his work application as was Darragh Broderick and Cian Godley. Liam O Brien is growing in stature all the while and Eoghan Leahy is benefitting from valuable game-time. Rachel Godley is more than a match for the boys and she competed well as did David Daly and ever-dependable Joshua O Keeffe. Eventually going down to an exceptional Currow side, we qualify for the Division 2B final against Brosna.

Faoi 6
It was great to see such a large turnout in numbers at U-6 training last Sunday morning despite the dreary and overcast conditions. However, all who attended made light of the poor weather and ground conditions and put in a wonderful hours training and football. With the help of mentors, Ger Collins, Bob Walsh, Liam Joy, Don Brosnan, Niall Gilroy and John Rice amongst others, all seemed to have enjoyed themselves throughout. Players to impress and to show great progress are Michael Prendergast, Alex Walsh, Micheál Savage, Seán Rice, Tommy Palmer and Shane Gilroy. We also welcome newcomers to the club, young Luke Silles and Jamie Burke and no doubt these two rising new stars will play a big role with Ballymac GAA club in the years to come. Training for this age group continues next Sunday at 11 am. See ye all there once again.
Girls Football
We hosted John Mitchels last Sunday morning in an U-10 game with a report on the game elsewhere in the notes.

We have yet to finalise details re. time etc but we will inform everybody as soon as possible. All Juvenile members of the club from U-6s to U-16s are invited to attend this annual event which has become very popular over the past number of years. Bheadh fáilte is fiche romhaibh go léir.
Mí-ádh The Castleisland District U-16 team under the stewardship of Ballymac mentors Mike Broderick and Dónal Rahilly were unfortunate to lose the Championship Quarter Final against Tralee District last Sunday morning in Ballymac. Both Mossie Leen and Jack Scanlon members of Ballymac U-16 team played their part for the District team. Going under by 5 points, C’island District certainly had chances to win the game but not everything worked out the way they had planned. Hard Luck once again !
