BALLYMAC 5–14 JOHN MITCHELS 5–4
On Friday evening we played John Mitchels in Tralee. Again we got off to a slow start conceding two goals early on. Our first score was a goal from Paddy but Mitchels replied with 2 points. We then got goals from Robert Dowd, Liam O Malley, & Dara Reagan, with Jerdie O Shea adding 2 points. Mitchels hit the net again before half time to leave us leading 4-02 to 3-04 at the break. The second half was all Ballymac with Robert Dowd now at full forward leading the way. We were now playing lovely football with Eddie Rodgers, Kevin O Connor and Kieran Coggins in control in defence. Up front Jerdie O Shea added 6 more points and a goal from David Long. Despite conceding a goal at either end of the half we won easily in the end. BALLYMAC 2–10 STACKS B 3–6
On Wednesday evening we played host to Austin Stacks B in the first round of the Coiste Tralee league. Playing against a strong wind it took us quiet some time to settle into the game. As a result we were 9 points behind midway through the first half. Dara Keane began the fightback with a goal and Dara Reagan scored 1-02 to leave us a point down at half time. Half time score Ballymac 2-04 Austin Stacks 3-02.
Stacks started the second half well but our defence was much better now with Eoghan O Malley, David Long and Brian Lonergan in great form. Max O Brien and Paddy O Donnell added 2 points to give us a hard earned win
This Wed night Sept 5th we play St. Pats in Rd 3 in Blennerville with start time of 6 30pm. All players to be at St. Pats for 6pm. And next Wed Sept 12th we play Kerins O Rahillys at home in Ballymac again with a 6.30pm start.
Faoi 12
On Monday evening last we travelled west to Dingle to play the hosts in the last round of the Central league. Our Gold team were in with a chance of topping the League tables with a victory over Dingle and our Gold team were vying for second place in their division. Report in next weeks notes. The previous Monday we hosted Annascaul and both our teams had resounding victories over the visiting sides. Our Blue Team were in imperious form with the likes of Darragh Leen, Daire Keane, Barry Lyons, Cathal Dunne and Tadhg Brick dominating the game. Our Gold team were also in a rich vein of form with wonderful displays from Diarmuid Lynch, Rachel Godley, Cian Godley and Brian Cassidy. These two teams have made great strides forward over the course of the year and the future bodes well for these teams. Great credit is also due to all the mentors who have devoted so much energy and time to both teams.
Faoi 16
Our Coiste Thrá Lí Div 2 game against Ardfert which was due to be played in Ballymac last Sunday was postponed at late notice. Game will be rescheduled. This coming Sunday Sept 9th we play Austin Stacks with game due to start at 12 30pm in Connolly Park and the following Sunday Sept 16th we travel to play Na Gaeil again with a throw-in time of 12 30pm.
Faoi 6/7/8/10
We welcomed our friends from Ardfert on Sunday morning last to Ballymac and a number of games at all these age-groups were played on a fine morning for football. Great displays of football were shown by all teams with the game played in the right spirit and all players exhibiting their fine footballing talents. Its great to see such great numbers at these games and all appeared to have enjoyed themselves to the full. Well done to all.
