North Kerry Shield Final: Ballymac 4-09 Moyvane 3-06
The girls were appearing in their fourth final this year and after three heartbreaking defeats some silverware finally made its way to Ballymac after a great win over Moyvane in Ballymac on Saturday afternoon. The girls started really well with a point from Cora Savage. Ashling O Connell then had a goal and two more goals from the impressive Cora Savage had the score 3-01 to 2-04 after 20 mins. Ballymac had further points from Millie Luck (2) and Emily O Donoghue to leave the halftime score Ballymac 3-04 to 2-04.
Moyvane dominated the opening period of the second half and 1-02 to lead the match for the first time. The home defence was under alot of pressure but great work from keeper Robin White and defenders Maeve O Sullivan, Niamh Rahilly, Ellie Sugrue, Eve Creedon, Cait Rice and Lisa Curran ensured that Moyvane were not to score again. Midfielders Aine Rice and Terese Keane were now winning some vital ball. Following a great move Millie Luck got the game turning goal and points from Cora (2), Millie, Aine Rice and Ashling O Connell the trophy was on its way to Ballymac.
Well done to all the girls who have put in a trojan effort all year. Coaches Donal, Mary, Kieran and Anthony are very proud of them all.
Maurice McNamara from the North Kerry Board presented the cup to a jubilant Ballymac captain Robin White amidst great scenes of joy.

FAOI 14: BALLYMAC 4-13 JOHN MITCHELS 5-4
John Mitchels were our opponents in Ballymac in our first game of the Coiste Trali League. The visitors got off to a great start scoring 1-2 early on. They added another 2-1 and so we were 3-3 to 7 points ahead after 20 minutes, our points coming from Liam O’Malley, Michael Hoare 0-2 and Dara Reagan 0-4. The turning point came when Josh found Michael Hoare with an inch perfect pass and he made no mistake to score our first goal. We scored another point to leave us behind by the minimum at the break 1-8 to 3-3.
Josh pointed early on and a goal from a fifty by Keelan sent us on our way. Further points were scored by Michael Hoare 0-2, Keelan and Dara Keane. Dara Keane and Michael Hoare scored a goal each either side of a Mitchels goal and we had moved 4-12 to 4-3 ahead. Mitchels scored another 1-1 but we had 6 points to spare at the finish.

The teams lined out nine a side and there was some very good exchanges from both sides. Aidan O’Brien and Brian Cassidy held midfield and our defenders were strong with Ciaran Brosnan and Adam Kelly mopping up a lot of ball. Up front Jon Lowe, Jack Tobin and Kyle O’ Connor were putting up the scores to ensure that we stayed well ahead of Rahillys at the final whistle. Final score Kerins O’Rahillys 5-5. Ballymac 5-15.
