U12 GIRLS:
U12 GIRLS COUNTY LEAGUE ROUND 1
Dr. Crokes 3-07
Ballymac 2-10
The U12 girls began their county league season with a very good draw away to Dr. Crokes. Despite missing a few players all involved gave it their best efforts and what resulted was a great advert for ladies football. Dr. Crokes started very well and had the ball in the net in the first minute. Ballymac settled and points from Cora Savage (2), Ellie McElligott and Ashling O Connell left the half time score Dr. Crokes 2-05 Ballymac 0-04. One of the highlights of the half was a superb save by Ballymac keeper and captain Roisin Long. The away team started the second half well with two Cora Savage points and a wonderful goal from the lively Emily O Donoghue put the minimum between the teams. It was end to end stuff and Crokes goaled to again take the lead. Another great save from Roisin Long kept Ballymac in it and when Emily O Donoghue scored her second goal of the match Ballymac were a point ahead going into injury time. With one last attack Dr. Crokes got a close in free which was converted to tie the game and produce a fair result.
