CAILINI FAOI 14
Our u14 Girls played their final game of the County League in Ballymac on Tuesday evening against top of the table Side Na Gaeil.
Both teams were without their Kerry Contingent with a club ban being imposed on Kerry Players prior to the All Ireland Semi Final.
Some further Illnesses and academic commitments saw Ballymac without four of its first team and this offered an opportunity to the younger players to get a Start.
The game was a very entertaining encounter, Lisa Curran opened the scoring on 10 Minutes with a point from play. Na Gaeil replied with a point of their own three minutes later. Na Gaeil struck again on 22 minutes with a goal. Three minutes later Ellie Sugrue replied with a rocket of a shot that was only going to finish up in the back of the net.
At half time the sides went in Level 1-02 each
Ballymac brought on Cora Savage to the forward line on resumption of the second half and although Na Gaeil scored a point on 34 mins Cora equalised matters minutes later, the teams exchanged scores over the next fifteen minutes however Na Gaeil showed why they are league leaders in the final ten picking off some great scores.

This being our last game of the League we now look forward to the Feile Competition in just over two weeks time.
Players that stood out on the night were Cathy Palmer in Goals stopping at least five certain goals and very steady under the high ball & in the forwards Ellie Sugrue was by far our most dangerous forward on the night.

U12 Girls County League Update
The county league preliminary rounds started in early April. The girls had victories over Legion, Scartaglin and Southern Gaels and defeats to Beaufort and Cromane. The girls ended up playing in Division 2 of the county league. There are 5 divisions in total so they are playing at quiet a high standard.
In Round 1 we were at home to Beaufort, the team which defeated the girls in the prelim rounds. The girls were determined to make up for that defeat and duly did so putting in a massive effort on the night to come away with a 1-06 to 1-03 win. Scorers on the night were Alexa Weiss 1-00, Yvonne Hurley 0-05, Eimear Curran 0-01.
Round 2 was another home game to a very strong Firies team. In a game in which defences were on top and our keeper Shona Griffin was in great form. Firies won out in a tight affair 1-05 to 1-02. Ballymac were also missing a few players on the night. Our only scorer on the evening was Eimear Curran 1-02.
In Round 3 the girls were at home once again to Corca Dhuine and following a very good performance won on a score of 3-09 to 3-03. Scorers were Alexa Weiss 1-00, Kate Collins 1-00, Ella Quirke 1-00, Yvonne Hurley 0-05, Niamh Lynch 0-02, Lorna Daly 0-01, Emma Leen 0-01.
We have 2 rounds to play, away to Dr Crokes on Tuesday 14th June at 6.30pm and away to Beale/Ballyduff, date tbc. A win from one of these games will secure a semi final spot. Well done to all the girls for their efforts so far and their very good attendance at the training sessions.
