Lidl “Level the Playing Field”
As of Monday the 4th April our club count was 46 stamp cards. We are so close our target of 50. Hopefully, we managed to complete the final 4 card by midnight on Sunday 11th of April. Keep an eye on our social media pages during the week to see our final number. We would like to thank all of the Lidl shoppers who collected tokens on behalf of the club. It has really been a community effort and we really appreciate your support.
Last Man Standing
Another gruelling week in our “Last Man Standing” competition with 18 participants safely through to Round 4 and 1 participant awaiting results from Monday evenings games. In 3 weeks we have gone from 125 contestants to a possible 19 contestants going into next week. Our 2020 competition had 5 winners, 2 of those are still in the running for the 2021 title. The remaining participants are reminded to have their entries for next weekend in by 3pm on Friday 16th of April.
Safeguarding requirements
Coaches and mentors are reminded that safeguarding training must be undertaken ahead of the upcoming season. New coaches/potential coaches must undertake a temporary SG1 Course and existing coaches, who have already completed a SG1 course in the last 3-5 years, must undertake SG1 Refresher Course. Please contact our club secretary for further information.
Skill of the week
This week the focus is on “The Hook Kick”. The Hook Kick is used when moving across the direction of the kick to avoid an opponent or to make a better angle. Check out this video from LGFA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEViD8o4ZWI which gives a step by step explanation. This video along with a fact card can be found on our Facebook page. Show us your skills and send your videos to proballymacladies@gmail.com. Keep an eye out on our social media pages.
