CAILINI FAOI 14
Ballymac 5-10
Firies 1-03
4 out of 4 for our U14 girls in the co league. However after the first 20min of this game we were behind 1-1 to 0-1 and struggling to put anything together. 3 goals and 2 points in the final 10mins of the first half gave us a nice cushion, Ellie Mc Elligott got 2-01 in this period, Niamh Rahilly got forward from centre back to get goal no 3 and Catriona Summers kicked 0-02. We dominated the 2nd half, Elle getting her hat trick and Lisa Curran’s switch to the forwards yeilded 1-02 for her. Eve Creedon gave a brilliant display of corner back play on the night, Sinead Mc Kewon was unbeatable, Niamh and Caoimhe in the half back line played very well. Robin’s kick outs were on the money and Maeve was solid at full back. Therese and Aisling ensured good possession at midfield and worked very hard. Ellie Mc Elligott was the pick of the forwards with 3-03 on the night ably assisted by Aine, Emily, Catriona and Sophie. Cait Rice put in a very industrious display at wing forward and Lisa’s salvo in the 2nd half was very encouraging.

CAILINI FAOI 12
Ballymac 3-09
Spa 2-04
The under 12 girls began their division 2a county league campaign at home to Spa, Killarney with an eight point win on a scoreline of 3-9 to 2-4. The result wasn’t as comfortable as the scoreline suggests until the second period of the secondhalf, when the girls finally began to take their chances. Until then Spa were always in contention, but our girls couldn’t be faulted for their efforts throughout, even when things weren’t going their way. Against the wind in the first half, Cora Savage opened the scoring with a point followed by another from Catriona Sommers. Emily O Donoghue chipped in with a point on the 10 minute to leave the scores level at 3 points each. After lots of pressure we got in for a good team goal from Emily to put us three in front but Spa responded with a goal of their own to level matters. We finished the half with another point from the boot of Cora to leave us ahead by the minimum at half time. The secondhalf began with our girls dominating possession and this began to pay off. Against the wind we got in for two goals from Catriona Sommers and Cora Savage to put us in a commanding position. Yvonne Hurley got on the scoreboard with a point followed by two more from Cora to leave us ahead by eight at the finish. Best on the night was Grainne Galvin in goals, Roisin Long and Millie Dunne in defence our midfielders Emily and Catriona and Cora and Kate O Connor in the forwards. Next game is away to Castlegregory on Wednesday next 27th.
